Babs is back in this Batgirl/Robin issue. Dick Grayson wears a costume, and lifts a 200 pound man with one arm. Jason swooned.  In the regular batman continuity, we meet the Corrosive Man, and Joe Public takes him down! Jean Paul Batman is there too- and lets be honest, he is being a bit of a prick about it. Joker continues to make his movie about killing Batman. "You'll believe a Batman can DIE!"  In the too read pile we talk Orphan and the five beasts, Eggcream, and Sacred Heart.

Knightquest continues. Everything with Catwoman is still gross, but good news- it also got kinda dumb. However, there is a Joker story emerging that has all the hallmarks of a stone cold classic. We have a real mixed bag on our hands.  Meanwhile in Batman Adventures, Batman takes on Ra's al Ghul. This was teased from batman adventures issues 13 and 14. Does it hold up and is worthy to be teased? We think so. In the 'to read' pile, Jason talks about the hong kong movie In the Mood for Love. Nick talks about Bad Weekend by Brubaker and Phillips.

It's beginning to look a lot like batman the animated series season 3 episode 1 in this special holiday episode. Nick and Jason break down the 65 page issue of 'oops all perfect' holiday stories. Nick slowly comes to realize this might be the best comic book he has in his collection.Then, Nick and Jason chat about comics in general. Really, just chatting about Bruce Timm and Paul Pope.  Happy Holidays yall!

Nick calls in from the road. Where is he? Probably right behind you.  In Batman Adventures 16 we go deep inside baseball. This thing is a comics easter egg treasure trove as Joker decides to make his own comics. Where he is the hero! And batman sucks!  Knightquest the search continues to be the most wild batman comics you'll ever read. Batman's spine is still destroyed, but apparently Bruce can still move around on two trick caines? Will the love of Bruce Wayne's life, Dr Shondra, heal him? Will Bruce still be a total drama queen? Find out!  Knightquest the crusade starts with an amazing interaction between Jean Paul Batman and Catwoman where we learn he has absolutely no sex appeal.  Nick talks Showa 1926-1939, a history of japan in the to read pile.

The Commish is neck deep in goons trying to get an undercover cop out of a bad situation. 20 years ago he would've fought his way out of this issue, but he still has some tricks up his sleeve.  Meanwhile in the regular bat books- we are still talking Knightquest. Knightquest the crusade is pretty great. Knightquest the search..... not so much? Batman falls in love for some reason and someone gets superpowers out of nowhere. Kind of a hot mess!  We are still workshopping the knightquest jingle.  In the to read pile we talk Cat and Girl a long running webcomic, and the comic adaptation of the BTAS movie Mask of the Phantasm.

Robin keeps Gotham safe while batman is out of town. He mixes it up with Scarface while getting a lesson from Alfred.  Knightfall ends, and now Knightquest the crusade begins. We get a bit with the tallyman, and slenderman type villain with machine guns. Will Jean Paul batman win in the end? How about against Mekros? How about against.... himself?  We also talk All Star Superman in the to read pile.

Our hearts ignite in this one. We've accidently stumbled into a romance comic. But don't turn away lover! Goons also get punched in the head this time too! The best of both worlds!  We also have an absolute stupid amount of Knightfall. Jean Paul Batman ascends to the mantel and makes it his own in the iconic batman issue 500. We've been back and forth on Knightfall for a while... What did we think of the climax.....   Also- in the too read pile, we tackle Alex Ross's Fantastic Four Full Circle and have some hot takes to serve for it.

We are now reading the kind of issue that only real money can buy. The first appearance of Harley Quinn! How fleshed out was she as a character? How was the Ivy Harley dynamic? Lets find out. Also a fantastic reference to the killing joke that just *comes out of nowhere*  AND Scarecrow got his groove back.

In Knightfall we got a fantastic 2 issue arc drawn by Klaus Janson that got a lot of praise this week. Bane threw batman off a building, and it was very enjoyable. Jason and Nick tackle batman adventures issue 11. It has Manbat! What a freak! There was a perfect piledriver in there.
