This is such a great podcast for anyone involved in music/audio production and engineering. A wealth of information pertaining to this whacky business. Everything from Life/Work Balance (because life comes before work), finances, health, and more I didn’t know that I didn’t know in the 35 years of being an audio professional. Thank you!

This is my favorite podcast related to audio production because it’s not talking about gear incessantly. It’s digging into the unique backgrounds of so many different producers and engineers and the obstacles they’ve overcome to achieve success in a tough profession without a defined framework at times. As someone working in a non related profession by day and pouring tons of time into my music at nights and on weekends, it’s inspirational to hear from many known and unknown people in the audio world with different paths to success. Matt is a great interviewer, he doesn’t talk over his guests, keeps the focus on track and from becoming too tangential while allowing the guests space to dig into their stories. I look forward to every Monday when a new episode drops!

Really great insights into the real world of audio engineering. Matt brings a refreshingly grounded take on the recording business, and unlike some other audio engineering podcasters, he asks questions and gets out of the way to let his guests answer.

This podcast has collected so many great interviews across the industry and connects with the human side of all these people instead of just talking about gear or work. Really inspiring to hear stories from so many people who’s recordings and work I’ve admired for years, and understand where they've come from, how they balance their work with their lives, and realize all the challenges they've overcome to get where they are.

Matt keeps the interviews moving in the right direction, while allowing the guests to tell their stories. If you are trying to learn about audio, listening to these shows is definitely worth your time. I found this show about a year ago and I am working my way through the old shows. They are enjoyable and informative. Thanks Matt!

Love the relaxed feel of this show. It’s like a fireside chat. Matt is a great host, the guests are always interesting. A great listen for those of us who make our livings on the other side of the glass.

I discovered these a couple years back, and as a noob to the audio roundtable, these episodes have been an invaluable resource for information and inspiration.

Not only is the WCA podcast the start of my week, but I've found myself binge listening through the archives on weekends. Whether from Matt, or one of his guests, or both-----I get something out of every episode!

Working Class Audio has become my new go to Podcast. Its becoming addicting i'm learning so much from professions with real indepth experience. I have a Recording and Enginerring Diploma and one class away from receieving my Associates Degree in Mass Communication. Somewhere along the way from the years that have gone by I have lost touch with myself and my dreams. Tired of working at a job a hate that has nothing to do with my education. This podcast along with others i listen to is motivating me to re-educate myself in what i learned in school. Working Class Audio is full of gems from information about everything that has to do with audio. I recommend this podcast to anyone recording, producing, mixing, enginerring music live sound, game and movie audio, commercials etc...

One of the best, if not THE best, audio podcasts. I like that WCA discusses the business and lifestyle of the audio industry, with an eye towards sustainability over a career. The guests are varied, from music producers to mastering engineers to post production. Matt is an excellent interviewer who weaves in Frank questions about the life of an audio professional with the fun “behind the scenes” type stories. The gear talk is minimal, which is refreshing. I’m very new in my professional audio career, but I’ve already picked up a lot of great advice from WCA that will stay with me through the years. Thanks for your hard work Matt! Would love to hear from more post-production folks and also some of the new breed of recordist/musicians (Pete Thorn, Tim Pierce, etc) who are making it all happen outside the traditional artist/producer relationships.

Like a few other pro audio publications out there WCA gets you in real conversations with real people making a living in audio. Everyone has a different journey in audio. It's helpful to hear everyone else's stories while you cut your own path.

I don't get into many podcasts. Most of them are poorly produced, not released on a timely schedule, or otherwise annoying. This podcast has imporoved my life and studio business in a number of small and not so small ways since I started listening to it. It's a real pleasure to listen to. I can give my ears a rest from working on music yet still be productive, learn a bit, and be entertained. At first I just listened to a few episodes with some bigger name guests I had already heard of. Now Iisten every week no matter who the guest is, and it's beceome a part of my weekly routine. Thanks Matt for keeping this going for so long, and so strong. I hope there are many more hunderds of episodes to come.

Matt's name was unknown to me and the spelling of his last name still eludes me. But what I can tell you is that show after show will arm you with more than a few tips, it'll give you perspective and real-world direction. It's like sitting down with a guidance counselor to make sure you're on the right track in your career. I can't say enough good things about WCA! I listen every week and I love the collaboration between my favorite podcasters: Lij Shaw, Matt, Warren Huart, etc...

For reasons I don't understand, many podcasts about audio are terrible. This one is not. The host is sincere. The interviewees are engaging and thoughtful and present an array of views on the art, science, and business of recording. Really well done.

I love this podcast. I'm a musican and not a recording engineer but I wanted to hear different points of view on recording so I could get ideas about my own recording process. This podcast does just that and more. It keeps me inspired and gives me a lot of ideas for my own projects. It's really a trasure trove of valuable information.

Enjoy this one very much. Variety of guests and subjects but all come back to the sound and the grind. Subscribed and haven't missed an episode since.

Packed with tons of great info on recording and the experience of working in the audio industry. WCA carves out it's own niche as being more about the experience of engineering, the practical aspects of engineers experiences with finances and the philisophical aspects of approaching mixing, client relations and music in general. Matt is a great host. If you're looking for a line in to the community of working audio professionals you've found it.

Matt is a wonderful host, his guests are stellar, and if you are at all interested in audio work, give it a listen. The depth and breadth of discussion are consistently enlightening

Unlike most other audio industry podcasts, this one does just as it's named and focuses on the Working Class freelance engineer. Most audio podcasts talk more about techniques in audio production where this podcast talks about the business of being an audio engineer. I wish more podcasts would talk about finances and work/life balance. As a studio owner myself, I find it fascinating to hear others opinions on a policy/procedure/strategy that may help me improve what I'm doing. Anyways, I highly recommend a listen. Great job with the show Matt!

I fell in love with this podcast pretty quickly when it started, but I am less interested in listening now that I have to listen to long-winded product endorsements in the midst of the program. A sad reality of today's corporate World.

This is a great podcast full of very useful information! I love that you bring up topics like balancing family life with audio life and many other in the trenches type of challenges that some other shows over look. I definitely recommend this podcast to the up-and-coming professional as well as the experienced working professional. I'm addicted!

This podcast features a great variety of excellent guests. The host, Matt Boudreau, tends to ask the right questions and for the most part stays away from alienating gear talk. Instead he focuses on how the specific philosophies and techniques of each guest has allowed them to flourish in a difficult market. I listen each week and highly recommend Working Class Audio podcast.

This is a great podcast. I really appreciate the no fluff straight talk approach. The interviewer ask sincere and thoughtful questions that apply to audio engineers and producers across all experience levels and genres. Can’t recommend this podcast enough.
