George Vlad is a sound recordist, photographer and expedition leader with a keen interest in wildlife and conservation. George travels extensively and records a variety of sounds, from natural ambiences and wildlife to odd vehicles and vintage aircraft. He also supports a variety of conservation initiatives around the world, either directly, by sharing my work with them or by employing them in my travels. When he's not traveling George works as a sound designer and composer for video games from his studio in Southern England. His audio work is heard by millions of players every month. In this episode, we discuss:LanguagesBurning OutThe Draw of the OutdoorsThe Listening ExperienceTravelEcologyThe language of BirdsField Recording TechniqueTrip PlanningMan Made SoundsThreat of ExtinctionRecording AttentionBribesFearAdventureFixersPackingBeesExperience vs ROISound LibrariesSound DesignGame Sound ImplementationLinks and Show Notes:Make Time Book: https://amzn.to/2ZcIOMbGeorge on YouTube: https://bit.ly/2A1TEfwGeorge's Site #1: Mindful-Audio.comGeorge's Site #2 Georgevlad.comGeorge on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/georgevladPortfolio at https://www.game-sounds.com/projectsWCA on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/working_class_audioSupport WCA - Go Ad-Free! https://glow.fm/workingclassaudio/Connect with Matt on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattboudreau/Current sponsors & promos: https://bit.ly/2WmKbFwWorking Class Audio Journal: https://amzn.to/2GN67TPCredits:Guest: George VladHost: Matt Boudreau WCA Theme Music: Cliff Truesdell Announcer: Chuck SmithEditing: Anne-Marie Pleau & Matt BoudreauAdditional Music: The License Lab
