Artist Profile: Hibaaq Ibrahim
Hibaaq Ibrahim is a local Minneapolis youth mentor and muralist. Growing up in Lakeville MN, Hibaaq faced many challenges in terms of coming into herself and her artwork. People pushed different narratives on her because of her artistic abilities at the time and her race as a Black woman. Hibaaq is using her experiences to help facilitate and mold young people and their work, while also using her passions to create joy for others. Hibaaq's art has lots of floral and natural elements, with bold colors. This creates a fun and vibrant piece of art that is joyous and a wonderful experience for the people who are lucky enough to see it.
