Originally, we wanted to do the history of Cynicism, but we realized 2,000 years worth of Cynic history is not feasible in a few episodes. So, we decided to dicuss the development of the ideas of Cynicism (pre-Diogenes)

Dio and Gene have a dialogue and share anecdotes about modern pejorative cynicism while also referencing classical/old Cynicism. Modern cynicism is not the same as classical/old cynicism. The only thing they share in common is the idea that people are self interested and motivated by their self interest.
