This week on the WiMP Podcast I'm flying solo and diving into a glass case of emotion. First up, in What Deserves a Platform This Week, I talk about a recent CNN article exploring new studies on the trauma experienced by a growing number of Evangelicals brought on by "rapture anxiety." 

Then I talk about why it is so hard for me, not only to express my own emotions, but to be present with others expressing their own. There are a number of reasons why expressing and experiencing emotion is hard for men in general including,

• hyper-masculinity in American culture
• associating emotional expression with femininity and weakness
• fear of vulnerability
• and the effects of substance abuse

At the end of the episode I'm joined once again by Bryan as we explore emotions in the lyrics of Kendrick Lamar's "Father Time" from his 2022 album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
