I miss this thoughtful podcast.

I was so delighted to see a new episode (and shiny new album cover) in my podcast subscriptions this morning! Already excited for what the upcoming shows have in store and grateful for the return of these heartfelt discussions.

Really interesting talks with well curated makers, business people, artists, etc. Really enjoyed this whole podcast and the relaxed environment. A lot of great questions and it really kept me thinking. Hoping there is more to come!

The interviews are engaging and inspiring! They interview everyone from the internet I wish I could chat with. As a designer, this podcast is my go to for inspirartion when I can't bounce between blogs and just need inspiration in audio form. Keep doing what you are doing ladies!

Just what we needed in the conversation about consumption and design and striving to do better. Big-time fan.

Having a conversation about buying things that represent who we are and pay people a living wage is long overdue. How and why we buy things should be more than a makers trend. I also enjoy the insight into people and how/why they started their companies that they interview. Definitely recommend!

I came across this podcast while browsing through IG a couple weeks ago. I never got into podcasts before but since I listened to the first episode of the American Edit I am hooked! I listened to episodes 1-6 in two days! I replayed a couple as well while I was impatiently waiting for the next episodes. I usually listen to it while working so I use my browser instead of itunes, but wanted to leave a review here for those that are wondering - it is so inspiring! For makers, shoppers and dreamers alike! It also contains so much insight from successful insiders of the e-commerce / social media industry which seems to be constantly evolving and somewhat of a mystery for those of us that aren't quite "insiders". The American Edit episodes leave us with much to think about :) I love it! Thank you for bringing such valuable information and insight to the public!

I give Rita and Erin 5 GOLD stars for their curated guest list and array of topics. I listened to the first 8 episodes in 2 days and now have several new conscious brands to look into. This year, I am dedicated to simplifying my life and getting rid of the massive amounts of "things"/"stuff." As a long time consumer, this is a life change for me and this podcast came just in time. It serves as both an encouragement and an incubator of knowledge for brands, processes, and resources to be a more responsible and conscious consumer. Great work!

This podcast is the perfect combination of business, fashion, and life's happenings. I have been interested in slow fashion and American made for sometime now. It's nice to finally have a good podcast that talks about these things.

As a consumer and an individual who loves supporting smaller and thoughtful brands/people, Rita + Erin have thoughtfully approached the subject of WHY we have things in a truly meaningful way. I’m always on the lookout for a new podcast that i can listen to while I work, and am really glad I stumbled upon Why Do We Have Things? I love that this podcast is artists and designers talk about their process and the work they put in to get where they are today in a casual conversational way. I especially love the episode with Lisa Hackwith because I am an aspiring designer and really admire her work and her business. I can’t wait to binge listen to all the episodes!!!!

I just discovered The American Edit and its podcast “Why Do We Have Things?” and I am loving learning about designers and artists and hearing the behind the scenes of their process and story.

I’ve been a fan of The American Edit for a while, so I was excited about this podcast. I love that the conversations are multi-faceted and deeper than an average interview. The episodes have all been inspirational and made me think about things in my everyday life differently. Bravo Rita and Erin - can’t wait for more!

I’ve loved Rita’s blog, and this takes the story even further. She’s already interviewed a fantastic lineup of industry experts and truly inspiring folks. She does a great job of asking the questions behind the questions, and making the conversation feel natural and effortless.

Only 3 episodes in and I’m hooked. Rita and Erin have picked some amazing guests to interview already and I’m excited to see who is up next. The interviews are especially interesting because the hosts really allow the person they are interviewing to be the focus and to talk at length about their process and how they got to where they currently are in their craft. So well done.

As a podcast junkie, I was thrilled to find that The American Edit launched a new podcast. Rita's interviews provide content that feels very real and relevant to me as a maker. Love the concept of this podcast, and I think it explores issues that mindful consumers are really focused on – where does our stuff come from? Why do makers and small business owners select to go one route versus another? How do we juggle the demands of creating products with creativity itself? In the podcast, Rita & Suann cover everything from favorite sources of business knowledge, how to run a successful Kickstarter, and all of the little details that went into creating the notebooks. I ended the podcast loving my Appointed notebook even more! Though I'm not a business owner or creative myself, I love hearing the thought process behind product development and marketing. This podcast is perfect to start your day with, over breakfast or during your commute. Simply put, Rita's podcast delivers.

I love The American Edit so was very excited when I learned about this new podcast - especially after I heard the name. The podcast is true to the message of TAE, thoughtful, interesting and not too serious. Can’t wait until the next episode.

Interview podcasts with creative people are my absolute favorite and as a lover of Rita’s blog, The American Edit, I knew right away this new podcast would become one of my favorites. Sure enough, the first episode with an artist I love to follow, Heather Day, was insightful, inspiring and felt like I was joining in a conversation with friends. Can’t wait for more episodes!
