This is the 2nd part of chapter 2 of the Sea Lady.   The story continues on after this for several more chapters but I won't be reading them.  Hopefully you have heard enough to want to go read it for yourself. This is the 2nd part of the story that H. G. Wells wrote about the mermaid that wanted to interact with humans.  I find it interesting that this story shows human nature in a different light, from the eyes of another life form that wants to be human. This is a long story the H.G.
