I tach a lot of crime shows and for research I call all kinds of people and ask all kinds of questions. This is why I'm sure I'm on a watch list somewhere. I should probably lead with - I'm a writer - and not - would this be a good way to kill someone. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/whiskeyandwriting/support

Authors and Websites
If you are going to try and make a living off of your writing, then you need to start thinking of yourself as a business. And as the author, you are the brand of the business. I hear so many authors say having an author website is too much trouble, or isn't worth it. This is the wrong mentality to have. Change how you are thinking. Otherwise, you are writing as a hobby. Not as a career. That may sound a tad bit harsh, but it is true. If you were starting any other kind of business, you wouldn't hesitate to create a website. So get off your butt, quit complaining, and build your awesome author website. Not only do they take over our writing and redirect our story flow, if we create a sub par character, it could take down the entire book. In this episode, I give you some ideas to help craft a character that will suck in your reader. Even though this episode centers on creating a killer for your story, you can use these nuggets of information to craft any character. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/whiskeyandwriting/support

Vanity Presses STAY AWAY
I get a little passionate when I am talking about scammers. I hate them. Especially those who pray on authors and other creatives. In this episode I talk about Vanity Presses, Fake Agents, and Fake Publishing houses and how to avoid their predatory practices.
