Trudy has been the inaugural LGBT+ Poet Laureate since 2016 and in this role she has written poetry that reflects the diversity of the LGBT+ community and the LGBT+ experience. I saw down with Germany's representative at the Eurovision song contest 2021, Jendrik Sigwart, to talk about the contest, not coming out and LGBT+ role models in Germany. Jendrik studied at Osnabruck Institute of Music going on to be a musical theatre performer and then had the honour of representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam 2021. Jendrik’s song may not have won the contest but he certainly won our hearts through his passion for inclusion and his drive to spread positivity.
