When artist in the rap community showcase acts of violence or they say certain things that may offend others, the Impact of Hip-hop always becomes the topic of discussion. Sometimes the things put into the atmosphere can have life altering results and sometimes the actions artist take may result in the loss of other's or even themselves. While these things may be true in some cases, I don't feel the music is the "cause" of the bad things that may happen in the world. For my second semester for my second year of college I was in a Sociology class that talked about things such as Sex, Gender and Sexuality. This class brought up interesting conversations about what's deemed normal and "abnormal" from certain genders. It's interesting to view criticism's of certain artist such as Ice Spice or Playboi Carti even when they are some of the most successful artist in the world. I've seen claims that they are too basic or cannot rap and I want to provide some reasoning as to why the things that are viewed as weaknesses are actually their strengths.
