We’re nearing the Yuletide season and quite cozily nestled amid Advent. Today I’d like to have some hyggesnak and chit chat about what the holiday season is supposed to mean. Ever since I was a young girl, I struggled to find the meaning of Christmas and foster this hygge warmth beyond the gift giving. I’m quite sure that I’m not alone in feeling overwhelmed by some of the stresses of the holiday season. There’s plenty of light, love, and hope to feel especially during the holidays! But it might just take some intentionality to cultivate the holiday spirit and not get lost in the commercialization, pressure of gift giving, and other potential stressors.
