Week 2: This Is What Obedience Costs

Obedience sounds simple—until it costs you something.

In Week 2 of the series King. Cross. Crown., Jesus begins to reveal what following Him will truly require. After Peter declares that Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus immediately turns the conversation toward suffering, rejection, and sacrifice. The disciples were expecting victory and glory, but Jesus makes it clear that the road ahead leads first to the cross.

In this message, we explore the difficult truth that real obedience often comes with a cost. Sometimes it means standing firm when others disagree. Sometimes it means surrendering our plans, our comfort, or even our reputation. But Jesus shows us that the path of obedience—even when it’s costly—is the path that ultimately leads to life.

Because before the crown… there is the cross.
