Weight of mind
Welcome to Weight of Mind, presented to you by Ditte Munch-Andersen, a clinical psychologist who has made it her life project to help people gain freedom from food addictions and help them break free of the diet mindset, building a path to diet freedom. Ditte is joined by her friend and Ayurvedic/Plant-Based enthusiast Kirsten Wearne, a self-confessed serial dieter who has spent many years struggling with her weight and building a healthy relationship with her mindset around food and accepting the body she lives in. The pair have fun, honest and thought-provoking conversations related to food addiction and the issues with the diet mindset, sharing experiences on a varying array of topics such as Food Fads, Normalising Imperfection, Black and White Thinking and Restrictive Habits. The aim of the podcast is to help you realise that you are not alone in your journey. Together they will help you to make some simple and effective changes to build a long-lasting positive relationship with food and also deliver a message of body positivity and self-acceptance. Perfectionism: how trying to be perfect can affect your long term health
Why do we keep thinking we must be perfect to be good enough?- and, more importantly, what does it do to our psyche and eating habits if we only feel we are doing well enough if we eat 100% perfectly? There are many explicit and implicit cultural demands on our appearance. So it's no wonder that many of us have internalised it as a need to be and appear perfect. In this episode, Ditte and Kirsten discuss the consequences of perfectionism, what it does to one's eating (and weight) - and not least, what to do if you want to practice lowering your overly high standards for yourself. In this episode, we discuss the following:- Our own experiences with perfectionism- The function of perfectionism - Is perfectionism innate or learned?- Why your eating will become easier if you put perfectionism aside and practice an 80/20 approach- How you can practice being less of a perfectionist.Download the mini-course here

Diet Coke: Why can't I cut down?
Today's episode is a solo episode with Ditte. I think there are several reasons why it can be so hard to cut down on Diet Coke – and today, I'm going to dive into them. Of course, if you are having a hard time cutting down on other calorie-free beverages, this episode is for you too. In this episode, I will discuss the following: If you are in the Diet Mindset and have a long list of forbidden foods- Diet Coke can feel like the last treat left. Cravings are signals from your mind and body, and if you continually use diet soda to silence the message, you might miss out on opportunities to solve ongoing issues in your day-to-day life.  Link to the: Mini-course on the Diet Mindset
