Ivan Lam's 'Blind Side' exhibition encapsulates the theme "These works are made not for the sighted to feel blind. It's for the blind to feel sighted" | Episode 37
Local Malaysian artist, Ivan Lam brings "Blind Side"  where he explores the theme of creating works that enable the blind to experience sight, rather than simply making sighted people feel blind. Partnering with the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB),  Ivan investigates the use of braille and audio to create works that are meaningful for the blind. The challenge is to create art that is no longer focused on sight, which requires a recalibration of the artist's studio practice. The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the importance of sight and how we take it for granted. While the works can still be appreciated by sighted people, they are designed to be experienced more fully by the blind.
