A great podcast. Why has the Times cancelled it???

Defunct
Used to be a great podcast, but sadly it has been cancelled as more and more of the NY Times recedes behind pay walls.

I have enjoyed this podcast
I like Jeff Sommers' delivery. I am sorry to see this podcast end. The production was excellent, the speakers know how to speak (vs the horrible WSJ casts) and the information supplied was excellent. I enjoy many NYT podcasts and I hope this one comes back. I listened every week. I will really miss it.

Not the last waltz!
Boo hiss to the editors for taking this podcast down. It has been an informative part of my life for many years. I hope the editors quickly realize their mistake and reestablish this quality program.

Coverage is excellent; delivery, not so much.
This is an excellent half hour wrap up of most major financial and economic news. Each week there's a select few 5-8 minute interviews with journalists on specific topics, plus a segment on the weekly business wrap up and a segment on business news in the upcoming week. The main problem I have with this podcast is that host Jeff Sommer talks incredibly slow. I'm patient and can usually tolerate minor radio host quirks, but this detracts from the quality of the show every week. It literally takes the guy twice as long to cover the wrap up and week-ahead segments than it should. There's also a 3 minute shameless plug for the NY Times and the NYTimes Blog at the tail end of every podcast, which is more aggravating than it is informative. The interviews are always excellent, but I feel the entire podcast could be truncated by a good 30% overall.

Excellent Business News
This podcast provides a nice recap of the business week. It also has two or three short segments that examine various business issues. Highly recommended. Bourke MacDonald

Slow Talkers at the NYTimes
I think the content is very good but they're presentation is waaaaayyyyy toooo slowww. We are not sitting in bed with the Times...we're driving to work, walking or jogging. Time is limited. Get on with it.

jeeefffff sssooommmmeeerrrrssss in slow motion
if jeff sommers could speak faster than 30 words a minute this would be a worthwile listen. As it is, he takes 20 minutes to say what any person of normal speaking ability could do in 10...which renders this podcast interminably boring.

NY Times Weekend Business
This podcast is fantastic. It's a smart but accessible view of the latest business news. The journalists on the podcast are interesting, to the point, and surprisingly witty.

Good Business / General Interest Magazine
At the time of this review, 3 issues have been published and each has been better produced than the last. Weekend Business offers us a weekly business magazine that provides a good addition to Marketplace and Marketplace Money subscriptions. This podcast is driven by interviews with business reporters and experts. If you don't enjoy interviews, you probably won't enjoy this podcast.
