Weathervane Podcast
Conversations with people dedicated to making music their life. The Weathervane Podcast was a pet project of former Weathervane Creative Director, Peter English from the Summer of 2014. English and record producer Brian McTear (Founder of the nonprofit Weathervane Music) speak with select independent recording artists about the things they do to improve and sustain their craft. This project included interviews with members of The War on Drugs, Hop Along, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and others. For some of the guests, huge things have happened since these conversations were recorded. Weathervane Music produces Shaking Through, a non-profit, community-produced documentary series about the vision and process of recording music. Download & Remix Tracks. Producer and Remix Artist, Carl Bahner remixes Half-Waif's "Every Animal"
Producer and Remix Artist Carl Bahner teamed up with Semblance singer and guitarist Maeve Gorman to produce an amazing remix of the Half-Waif song “Every Animal” (originally recorded for Weathervane Music’s documentary video series Shaking Through in 2018). Their approach brings the song to a completely new place, while at the same time somehow providing a deeper appreciation for the original. Through Remix Access, Weathervane Music allows the supporting members of this unique non-profit community to download, remix and share the multitracks and mix-stems from Shaking Through recordings. This podcast episode with Bahner and Gorman marks the first installment in what will be an ongoing series in the Weathervane Podcast of conversations with exceptional remix artists. And here’s another little surprise… Carl Bahner himself will be curating and hosting these future conversations.

David Hartley of Nightlands and The War on Drugs
David Hartley’s project Nightlands is outstanding, though he’s probably best known as the bass player for The War on Drugs. Shaking Through fans will remember him for his roles in episodes with Torres, Steven A. Clark, and the 2009 pilot episode featuring BC Camplight. His career has had him working on his own music, as well as filling out roles in other peoples’ projects, not to mention a unique early recording experience he had with the late Andy Johns. Jonathan Low - Engineer, Mixer & Producer (The National, Mumford & Sons)
After graduating from Drexel University’s Music Industry Program, Jon Low got his start as the first intern at Miner Street Recordings, the studio where we produce Shaking Through. Over the years he’s grown into quite a respectable young engineer and producer, working on projects with The National’s Aaron Dessner, not to mention producing records for bands like Restorations, The Menzingers, Carroll and many, many more.
