Mitch McConnell has shown today he believes in fairness when it comes to blocking Democratic Presidents' agendas.  In 2010, he was quoted as saying his goal was "to make Barack Obama a one term president".  He failed in that goal but he blocked every attempt to move forward even to improving the Affordable Care Act.  His mantra and the GOP was repeal and replace.  They showed under the ex-president they had NO PLAN for health care if they repealed the ACA.  Today, he has said he will block President Biden's agenda because it is a "socialist agenda".  The entire GOP is going down a rabbit hole and they want to take the country with it.  This is the message of this podcast.  thanks for listening and be sure to check out the latest on the website: wethepeople4democracy.net.  Our Democracy is in danger.......

51 years ago today, a group of Ohio National Guard fired upon protesting students on the campus of Kent State University.  Four were killed and nine wounded, including one who has lived in a wheel chair since that fateful day.  This podcast is about that day and its aftermath.  It began the student strike that closed campuses throughout the nation.  I was part of that aftermath.  Not mentioned in the podcast is later in the evening of May 5th, I was watching the news and actually saw myself as part of the protest.  There is a connection here to what is happening in our nation today.  The forces of the government have been using their powers to suppress protests, voting and equality..... thanks for listening and for so much more visit the remembering page in my website: wethepeople4democracy.net

Tonight, I am sad, down and fearful. I am once again feeling the Democracy I taught about is in jeopardy by the Republican MAGA party and its cult leader and his minions.  On Wednesday morning, we are likely to find out if his Facebook access will be returned as an ad hoc evaluative advisory group to FB makes their determination.  The majority of the R/MAGA party are still touting the big lie as is the cult leader himself.  Our Democracy has survived almost 250 years, three wars that each had the potential to end our country; two world wars, the divisions of the 1960s.  But, can it survive the way too often repeated lies espoused by the R/MAGA talking heads on the far right?  Or the blockaders in the Senate, including a couple of Democrats, even.  I had really hoped to move forward after this election and we surely have, but I also was hoping the personality MAGA cult would disappear forever.......thanks for listening.  Check out the posting on the Student Strike after Kent State on the website: wethepeople4democracy.net

I find it fascinating that when Republicans are not in control they become fiscal conservatives even when it comes to helping especially their own constituents who are not wealthy.
