034. REPLAY: Clubhouse Room on Negotiating Salaries and Contracts
Happy International Women's Day!  I'm celebrating a couple of days early by releasing an episode!  Here is a replay of a Clubhouse Negotiation Room that I co-hosted a couple of weeks ago.  This room was originally addressed to a very specific group - Haitian and Haitian-American entrepreneurs.  We started the room discussing negotiating contracts, termination provisions and the like and landed where people always land SALARY NEGOTIATIONS!  In this edited Clubhouse recording, I address: 1. Tips that can help you better negotiate your salary today! 2. Backtracking an accepted offer after you've discovered you've been low-balled. 3. Negotiating with a staffing agency - yes it is possible! 4. Terminating a contract effectively through convenience or for cause. 032. Creating safe spaces for your children to express themselves, teaching them forgiveness authentically and other ways to teach your children conflict resolution skills.
In this episode, I address an important topic for working mothers (and yes, aunties too): teaching children conflict resolution skills!  I talk about 5 ways in which any mother/caregiver can support the little ones in their lives.  Of the many tips I provide, I specifically love "forgive your children" the most.  Why?  Because I had to walk a path of deep forgiveness of motherhood and yes, even of my son in order to authentically teach him how to forgive.  It truly was my saving grace.   Be sure to join us for the upcoming 2021 21 Days Negotiation Challenge!    Join the We Resolve to Win Negotiation Challenge! 030. We Resolve to Win with #NaturalHair.
Discussing natural hair is one of my favorite pastimes.  I personally know what it is like to experience natural hair discrimination at work and at home.  The fact that we're still having this very important conversation tells me that it may be time to take a different angel.  In this brief episode, I discuss my Thrive Global feature as a Natural Hair Advocate and the importance of affirming our children that also have coily, kinky and curly hair.   Thrive Global feature: https://thriveglobal.com/stories/elizabeth-goueti-theres-always-something-to-learn/  Jane and the Hair Goblin: www.hairgoblin.com Kickstarter Campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ejeanpierre/relaunching-jane-and-the-hair-goblin Connect with me: Social Media: @weresolvetowin Private Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/weresolvetowin Corporate Consultations: https://www.avinuconsulting.com/ Interested in being a guest? 029. Black Women, It is Time: Creating a Salary Negotiation Strategy
My beautiful Black women, it is time to negotiate your salary.  Now.  Black women are suddenly in demand in the United States and some parts of Europe.  Companies are now starting to see the error of their ways as it relates to the treatment of Black women at work (lowest paid, least promoted, most disrespected!) and thankfully, that also includes how we are paid.  SO YOU BETTER START NEGOTIATING!  So this episode is dedicated to you.  Let's talk about creating our negotiation strategy.  Here's how: (1) Reverse engineer your cost of living; (2) Begin research and have quality information; (3) Think about your TOTAL COMPENSATION; (4) Know your best vs worst case scenario; and (5) Make it a hard skill and soft skill. Episode 26: https://anchor.fm/weresolvetowin/episodes/026--The-3-Bs-of-Salary-Negotiations-Focusing-on-Total-Compensation-ejojsq Research Database: https://www.81cents.com/ Service is currently $195.00US.  I have not personally used this because I used a legal database for in-house counsels but the reviews seem amazing! If you are curious if I provide 1:1 coaching, yes I do.  However, I am booked for the remainder of 2020.  New bookings will be available in February 2021.   Connect with me: Social Media: @weresolvetowin Private Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/weresolvetowin Corporate Consultations: https://www.avinuconsulting.com/ 1:1 Individual Coaching: info[at]avinuconsulting.com Interested in being a guest?
