The We Need Help Podcast - Episode - Awareness by Anthony De Mello
In this episode we review Anthony DeMello’s Awareness, the book that got Iza through rehab and got Lizzy out of a mild funk.  We talk about how Izzy served a full tea service at her own intervention, because she is super classy. We learned that being aware of being an ass is more important than not being an ass, because we are all asses. We put a call to action for the church to start serving french pastry for communion at their services to score parishioners. It’s important to wake up! and be aware of why we are doing things and being selfish is much less important than not being aware that we are. Understanding and embracing our imperfections and the imperfections of others is a heck of a lot more important than focusing on the crack pipe dream of perfection. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/weneedhelppodcast)

The We Need Help Podcast Episode - Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
In this episode we review Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert. This book brought up some many questions for us...the most important being, “What is David Copperfield up to these days?” We then went on to discuss less important topics such as fear, childhood, hopes and dreams, creativity and how to do what you love and love what you do. We discovered that Lizzy could have been the next Jethro Tull if only she hadn’t faked playing the flute, and Izzy was in love with a poor-man’s Jim Morrison who later lost all his hair and started wearing LL Bean.  Ouch. What does this all have to do with creativity? Listen and find out!But most importantly, listen to find out what David Copperfield is doing these days.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/weneedhelppodcast)

WNH-Episode-OwnTheDay-OwnYourLife by Aubrey Marcus
In this episode we review Aubrey Marcus’ Own The Day, Own Your Life. We found that this book has a lot to offer us and if we did it all we agree that we’d be so exhausted.  We agree that we’d be rather put off by anyone trying naked jujutsu with us before we had a cup of coffee, but we could definitely get onboard with putting MCT oil in our coffee, and maybe even do cryogenic therapy! He taught us a lot about supplements, sleep, and a little bit about sex. We couldn’t get onboard with everything, but definitely believe that there is something to be gained by reading this book.  Long story short, read the book, but please don’t be a fuck boy. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/weneedhelppodcast)

The We Need Help Podcast Episode - Face by Justine Bateman
In this episode we review Justine Bateman’s Face: One Square Foot of Skin and “Face” the fear of getting older and (gasp!) looking like it. We were pleasantly disappointed by how painful it is to be a woman and survive and God forbid, get wrinkles. You can’t age, you can’t not age, we are judged no matter what we do, and the worst of it? We are judging ourselves and each other. We both agree that Justine Bateman is such a BADASS woman, she is complicated, and far more than just a face in the crowd, she stands out for so much more.  This book made us realize that we are not alone, to be nice to our faces, to appreciate the wrinkles because a wrinkle is an experience and to remember to chill…. it really is just one square foot of skin. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/weneedhelppodcast)
