Tough season
I’ve long loved this podcast, but this season has had a change in focus. It would be more appropriately called not drinking and farming while pregnant. If you’re not planning to farm while pregnant this season might not have much to offer you. And if you’re struggling with fertility you may find the season too painful.

Tons of helpful info for beginning hobby farmers
I found this podcast in 2021 when searching for info about raising baby chicks and learned SO much from these ladies! Chickens are a gateway animal so of course I got a couple of goats and again, turned to this podcast for help. They share great tips along with the good, the bad, and the ugly of farm life. It’s a fun listen. The associated Facebook group has been a terrific support system as well. Thanks Sam and Bev! Cheers ladies. -Bridget Greene (insta @BridgeGreene)

Long-standing go-to farm podcast
I started listening to Sam and Bev several years ago when I discovered podcasts and was building my new small farm. They have become my go to listen when harvesting, planting, and shoveling compost. They are real and genuine and help put things in perspective as they “give zero clucks” about not having the perfect farm life. @kathyzitnik on Instagram

Entertaining & educating
I found this podcast about 3 years ago when I was feeling lost after selling our dairy cow herd. Knowing there was more to life on the farm than milking changed my life, Sam & Bev have kept me learning and laughing, and reminding me I’m not the only farm chick who struggles sometimes!

Drink and Listen Up!
I’ve been listening to this podcast since day one. I’ve never written a review because I’m always listening while I’m in the car, the tractor, or my favorite- in the garden. I was so excited to come check the podcast out after hearing Bev mention it on another podcast. I had been following Bev on Instagram for a while prior. I was not disappointed in the least! I love Sam and Bev. They make a great team as their knowledge, experience, and personalities compliment each other well. I love to listen in the garden with my earbuds in, and a drink in my muddy hand while I plant or pick or whatever I’m doing out there. I have learned a lot of tips and tricks, and I even enjoy the episodes that don’t really relate to me at all. (I’ve never had cows, or donkeys, or goats…) Most of all it feels like I’m sitting down to chat with old friends and I get to laugh a lot too. All the stars for this show! Like getting together with friends!
Love Bev and Sam! It truly is like getting together with friends for happy hour, even if it is with V8! I always learn something and always laugh. They are on my weekly rotation of podcast ‘must listens’.

Long time drinker first time farmer.
We bought a large farm last year. Totally spur of the moment. And we decided we could be farmers/ranchers. YOU LADIES HAVE BEEN A GOD SEND. Clearly I know very little about farming, but here you are to save the day! Your teaching me all the things, sharing drinks, making me laugh, and keeping my stress down! Keep up all the great things!

Fabulous
Thank you ladies for this podcast. You keep me inspired and motivated to try new things on the farm. I dairy farm with my husband. While this takes up most of my time I do have a few things of my own to add some variety. So far I have laying hens and a vegetable garden. You both are entertaining, keep up the good work! ~Liz~ on Instagram @thefarmherandherdog

Supporting my homesteading dreams!
Moved from the big city to a small town, dreaming of a more self-sufficient & sustainable life! Bev & Sam make me laugh while helping this city girl learn to produce more of my own food. Episodes are always just on time- today I was talking about cranberries (I’m new to one of the 5 states where these tart little treats grow) and I wanted to know more. Lo and behold! An episode about cranberries! Thanks, ladies! 📷 : emmers42

Love love love your podcast ladies! I truly feel like I’m hanging out and having drinks with some good friends of mine! I don’t have a farm yet, but stumbled across y’alls podcast because once my husband & I buy a house I’ll be starting my little farm with chickens! Just trying to soak up all the knowledge I can and have learned SO much already from y’all! So happy I found you 😍

Farm-tastic Fun Talk!🐓
Drink and farm never disappoints! Sam and Bev have radiating positivity about agriculture and can really bring a laugh to learning! I recommend this podcast to many of my friends both farming and non, with over 100 episodes everyone can find something that interests them! They have an awesome way of organizing their talks and keep every episode honest and informative. I ran into this podcast on accident just last year looking for chicken podcasts to listen to on my commute to work but this has amounted to way more. Quite honestly this podcast was one of the best things I discovered in 2020! As a young woman stepping into agriculture this podcast has definitely kept it real and made me feel less alone in my farming adventures! With every farm story, minisode, and can’t even sesh I fall more in love with this podcast! Bev, Sam and the guest speakers all help me to laugh through the challenging things and drive me to continue growing my farm dreams! These ladies lay it all out there and I admire them for being the undeniably passionate joy farmers they both are! Thank you for what you do and keep it up!! P. S. You should do an episode about emus:) -Donna (countrycutie870 on Instagram)

You are an inspiration!
I love this podcast! It’s really inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and try a few different things!! A greenhouse, compost bin and a worm farm! I’m sure this is only the beginning lol! I look forward to every episode! Thanks so much Bev & Sam for sharing all your ups and downs, your mistake, fails, laughs and all the great things that have come out of your experiences!

I continue to love this podcast!
Loving learning all these farming tips and tricks that are such a great resource as I grow and expand my own garden and farming skills. And I love the realness you ladies give to it and make it all feel attainable and not so overwhelming! 👩‍🌾👩‍🌾

These ladies are the straight poop
Downloaded iTunes just to leave this review! Started listening to Bev and Sam ages ago and I can say the podcast, and their stories of their farms, just continue to improve like a fine wine. They keep it real with the straight scoop, or poop, about everything that's going on with their farms, whether it's good or bad. And that's the great thing about this podcast. These ladies aren't afraid to let it all hang out which is super encouraging for people who sometimes feel like they're alone in the struggles that happen on a small farm. Their personalities and styles totallyl compliment one another and have me cracking up on the regular. I look forward to every episode and I know you will, too. Cheers, ladies!

Great listen!
When I first listened to this podcast it was for the chicken episodes, and I wasn’t sure I loved the delivery, but the content was great. After picking out the handful of episodes on chickens and listening though- I was hooked. I went back and listened to everything and the hosts have only gotten better in time. It’s one of only a few podcasts I have listened to every episode of, and now I don’t miss a single cast.

Staying Connected
Bev and Sam are two people that I have loved following on social media since before the podcast was even created. They are super relatable down to earth farm chicks who give zero clucks about keeping up with unrealistic social media perfection, and the Drink & Farm podcast follows suit. I left social media this past January and finally had the time to catch up with the podcast, and by catch up I mean binging every single episode from start to finish within the past four months. I’m feeling a mixture of accomplishment mixed with sadness that I’m completely caught up, because now I will have to wait for each new episode to drop. Listening to the Drink & Farm podcast is not only entertaining, educational, and all around day brightening, it also gives me a way to feel like I’m still staying connected with my farming friends despite not having social media. So cheers to you, Bev and Sam, for creating the best farming community and podcast that there is! You guys are awesome!

Farming with Friends
Hello Bev and Sam, It has been such a wonderful boon to find your podcast! I feel like I have friends and mentors in the farming community thanks to your welcoming and knowledgeable voices. Two years ago I followed my dream and moved out of the city and into the country to start my little homestead. Needless to say I don’t always know what I’m doing and my city-dwelling friends often don’t have the most sound advice! It’s so refreshing to have you as a resource for when I make mistakes. As you always say, “the important thing is to learn from your mistakes” and your podcast has helped me press on during the difficult times. Thank you for the community you have created. You’ve made me a more confident homesteader and your podcast always brings me joy. Jill BirdsEye Homestead

Imperfect Perfection
I thought I had already left a review, but apparently that was a figment of my imagination. So here we go... I NEVER miss an episode of Drink & Farm. Every episode is like having a sit down pow wow with your best buds. Farm life is not perfect and a lot of us didn’t grow up farming so our expectations and experiences are wildly varied. Sam and Bev keep it real with the imperfect perfection that farming for joy brings. The information shared is valuable, yes, but it’s the host’s willingness to learn and grow as they go and be vulnerable and share their personal experiences that keeps me coming back every episode. Cheers! @talaingen_farm

Farm friends I didn’t know I needed!
I’ve been listening to D&F for a while now and the podcast and Fb group have been a life saver, to share the chaos that happens around our farm with people who actually get it. It has also allowed me to (virtually) meet so many amazing inspiring women who encourage each other on the hard days, help you laugh it off when it gets to be almost too much and never act like the “IG Perfect” farm is how it always is. Bev and Sam have created a fantastic community of people many of us are eternally grateful for and thank you for keeping it real. Cheers to many more years of Drinking and Farming! @Rentedhomesteadca

The best clucking podcast!🐔
I absolutely LOVE listening(sometimes relistening) to this podcast. I feel like every week after listening I tell my husband about the a new project that I just need to start or something that I learned and he just laughs at me. I love that this podcast makes me feel like I am just sitting with my friends talking, while learning so much! Thank you for all the work you ladies do to keep everything entertaining and educational!❤️

Entertaining AND educational!
This was my first listen, but after my episode, I’ll certainly be going through the older shows. As someone with a hobby farm that hopes to settle out there full-time, this makes farming approachable. This had the perfect combination of being both entertaining and educational- a balance which many podcasts fail to achieve. Many thanks and looking to the next episode!

My Favorite Podcast
This is the only podcast I am subscribed to that I don’t skip episodes! I came for the farm stories but have expanded the drinks I try as a result. This is so down to earth, funny, and embarrassingly relatable! I only wish it was twice a week!

So glad I finally started listening!
I’ve followed these ladies on Instagram for a while but just finally started listening today, to mix up the Christmas stuff. These ladies are funny and down to earth. As someone who loves farm things (but, unfortunately does not have a farm) and adult beverages, I love this! It’s a good way to still get my comedy fix when I need a break from The Dollop or My Favorite Murder.

We love the show
Hey y’all I just want to say y’all are amazing! My 8 yr old daughter and I both enjoy listening to your show. In fact she usually reminds me when a new episode is expected to be released. I only wish y’all could spend ever minute of the day entertaining us! But since that’s not feasible I guess we just have to keep not so patiently waiting on new episodes. Wishing y’all all the best, katie and Taylor

The Perfect Start to My Mornings
Hey there Bev! Hey there Sam! I just wanted to let you both know how wonderful your podcast is. I have a 30 minute commute driving my kids to school in the morning, and once they are dropped off, it’s like my own “me” time with my coffee and my girls, Bev and Sam, on my drive back to our little peace of paradise. I live on a small hobby farm in Ohio (Hi Bev!) Raising chickens, a few little buns (bunnies), and hope to bring geese into the mix next year. I truly appreciate all the valuable information and you inspire me every time I listen. Keep the podcasts coming! Erin Nusbaum @nuttreefarmhouse

Amazingness for my eardrums
Do you like drinking and farming and sometimes combine the 2? (Safely of course.) Then the very informative and always entertaining Bev and Sam have the podcast for you! I love how they have zero judgment because they are learning as they are going and just sharing that knowledge in hopes of helping others along the way. After a few episodes I ran to Facebook and Instagram to join in because I know I have found my people. Thank you ladies! - Ig @onthehillhomestead

Getting my Chicken Fix without the Chickens
Love to hear all the REAL farm stories that the ladies share (with laughter) each and every week. I’m hoping their experiences help me avoid some chicken disasters as I venture into chicken keeping in the spring. For now I laugh along with them every week and look forward to each new episode. Thanks for an honest and humorous look at farming!

You’re Doing Amazing Sweetie
I discovered this podcast a few months ago and it is no exaggeration that it has changed my life. Part of what makes this podcast so great is that neither Bev nor Sam is an expert, and they don’t try to pretend they are. Instead, they research the topics they talk about (and provide sources!), present the information, add some personal experience of relevant, and provide corrections as needed. Ive learned so much about so many different farm related things that I never would’ve even considered relevant, and the episodes are so entertaining that I’ll listen to episodes about gross goat diseases even when I have no intention of getting goats. Each episode feels like a huge pep talk even when I feel like I’m doing everything wrong and making so many mistakes.

How have I not heard of you ladies before this month? I listen while driving, running, tending to my goats (I know they like the stories too). So much relative information that I need in my life about caring for & milking goats and keeping chickens happy! Thank you for the education and humor! Love ya!

I just wanted to thank you guys for creating something that is really perfect combination of humor and education, and a great jingle 😂 I’ve been bingeing for several days, and today my 4 year old was walking around singing something I couldn’t recognize. Then I realized it was your intro song 😂 Maaaaaaybe not totally child appropriate, but I know you won’t judge me for my parenting lol Thanks again for this little escape from our current reality! Keep doing you! Cheers 🍻

Great podcast for all the farm girls out there!
Hey ladies! I’m a new listener and oh man, I already love the show! 😍 As an Oregon hazelnut farmer, garden lover, and wanna be chicken farmer, your topics are spot on. I love the comedy added into the tips and advise that all of us farm girls could use, and the drink recommendations are a plus too. Keep on doing your thing and not giving a cluck! Cheers! 🍻 Kasey

From Earth Worms and Ear Worms they cover it all
such a great podcast that really is for the big farmer and the newbie backyard farmer. Such a wide variety of topics are covered and I love learning all the new things. Also, I find myself singing your jingle after listening to your podcast-my family thinks I’m crazy, not new though. Keep up the great work ladies!!

Duckin’ A Right!!
Thank you ladies, I’m a new fowl mom with 3 chickens and 3 ducks. You’re podcast makes me feel not only like I am not alone in this farming experimental life I’ve created; but also empowered to know there are several resources available (mentioned on the podcast) to me when I feel like I’m stumbling. My only (hopefully helpful) criticism is that I am dyslexic so it would be great to have your phone number listed on your webpage and/or show notes because trying to listen to it over the podcast is a real pain for me. And I have questions to call in!! Cheers ladies and keep up the flocking good work!!

Educational and Entertaining
Despite not having so much as a deck to plant a garden on, I stumbled across this podcast and was instantly hooked. Sam and Bev provide an entertaining and educational platform and listening to them during my work day provides much needed laughter and knowledge. They also use their voices to help others. Listening to the episode about amplifying black farming voices gave me new content to enjoy and a new appreciation for this show. I can’t even with how much I enjoy this podcast.

Real Talk about Real Stuff
I was looking for podcasts that can help me be the best duckling momma. I came across this podcast and fell in love. My husband brews his own beer so I was intrigued. I love how the ladies are so down to earth and are honest about what farming/homesteading is about. I am learning a lot about having a farm for the future with light hearted talk that I can connect to as a busy working mom. I feel like I’m sitting down have a drink with the girls every time I listen. I am inspired and relaxed. Thank you for this peace of heaven turning the pandemic.

Great for someone getting started with homesteading!
I recently started doing some gardening and got chicks for the first time this year. I am by no means close to being a homesteader yet but I have the space to do it. I feel very overwhelmed just thinking about it! This podcast has been great for making me feel better about making decisions and has given me tons of ideas. I love that the hosts are not the Pinterest-type homesteaders and that they openly share what works and what doesn’t based on their experiences. This podcast has definitely helped me to relax into doing what I can and not be upset about not having a picture-perfect farm!

Drink and farm...two of my favorite things.
My husband walked in the other day while I was listening to the show. He listened for about two minutes and said, “They drink beer, have goats, and chickens...they sound like your people!” And they totally are!! It is refreshing to find that there are farmers out there willing to admit that they don’t know it all! I don’t know that there has been an episode that hasn’t made me laugh out loud at least once. As a stay at home homeschooling mom and farm wife, this is the humorous break that I have been looking for! Thank you Sam and Bev for keeping it real!!

Finally giving back!
I’ve been listening to Sam and Bev for close to 2 years. This podcast is my favorite to listen to during farm chores. My kind of people who are learning through trial and error, sharing experiences, random facts of knowledge, puns, beer drinking, and lots of laughs! Not only am I finally leaving a review but I signed up as a patron today. I’ve been listening and enjoying for far too long not to give back. A Must Listen for Farm Folks
I don’t know why I’ve taken so long to write a review because I love this podcast SO. MUCH. Bev and Sam have created a community of support for farming folks of all levels through real life experiences, research, and humor. Oh, and the beer! And wine. It’s a true happy hour for sure. Can’t say enough about how I’ve not only learned from these ladies, but I don’t feel as alone or as judged about my own farm and not having everything perfect. I feel like Sam and Bev are my farm friends even though I’ve never met them and they have no idea who I am haha. Thanks for an awesome podcast!!

Keeping my farm dreams alive!
This is the perfect podcast. I’m in the very early phases of building my mini farm dreams in the suburbs and trying to learn more life skills has been pretty intimidating. I have read books and blogs and asked questions at the feed store, but nothing has made this big, sometimes scary, adventure seem more tangible and achievable than Sam and Bev. They are so honest about the work that goes into the farm dream while also being so gracious to themselves and others. And having lots of fun and making me laugh! The variety of topics they cover makes each episode interesting on its own and I always look forward to follow ups because so many cliff hangers. They give me hope that my farm dreams can come true too!! Thanks Sam and Bev for putting in all of this work and lifting us all up!
