Hayden is an Aboriginal man and a child of the Stolen Generation, which has caused life long mental health issues as a result of growing up isolated from his family and not understanding what was happening. Michael moved from NZ to Australia at 15 and lived a very happy and successful life until it all came crashing down in a psychotic episode, and ended up detained in mental health institutions. He took the opportunity to get better, working with psychologists and medications and now works in the Integrated Mental Health In Patient Unit as a support worker. After the suicide of a friend, he found himself without the tools to manage his depression and subsequent decline in mental health. As well as being a Councillor on the Wollondilly Shire Council, Blair is also a volunteer firefighter with the RFS and is now the Senior Deputy Captain with the Lakesland Brigade.
