It is January 2nd TWO THOUSAND AND TWENTY THREE people!!....and it is game time! Legislatures across the country are going to be rocking and rollin and no state in this great union is more poised to do some meaningful stuff than we are here in God’s country. For too long KY has lagged behind. Sat back and watched as other states evolved tax policy. Made their states more business friendly. Well, I honestly think that is going to change this year. We have elected some great new legislators with real deal constitutionally minded principles and ideas. But even more than that, we have elected legislators that are excited about everyday, real deal holyfield, in it to win it Kentuckians being involved in the governing process. We are going to talk today about exactly what I am specifically talking about by beginning a multipart series I will be posting this week detailing out the first real deal, people driven, legislator endorsed, parental rights bill that will be going in front of a state legislator near you over the next few days! On Monday December 19th the Courier Journal ran a story on the front page of their paper discussing increased acts of violence against certain populations of the community. Just 3 days prior to that on Friday December 16th, in a very sad and tragic story a KY state Senator lost their child to suicide. It took the leftwing media all about 5 seconds to turn it all into a political narrative filled with both direct and indirect accusations of how it is evil Republicans and Conservatives that caused this poor soul to take their own life. Understandably so, this is not something any politician can come right out and respond to. Lucky for me, I am not a politician, nor do I have any aspirations of being one. So I will discuss the situation and tell you my thoughts on the matter. As a father of 4 my heart goes out to the Senator and her family in this awful time. I wish we lived in a world where we could just allow people to grieve but at this point so much hateful rhetoric is being thrown at conservatives in this state that someone must speak up. It's been a couple of weeks since the last show. I've been in the trenches writing legislation and meeting with KY legislators tho so I promise ya I haven't been being lazy!
