Is there a difference with how American and British people do comedy? Well, the answer is yes, but also not really because the British version is directed by an American and... you know what? We cover this in the episode, listen to it. We watched both versions of Death at a Funeral for one of the shortest times between remakes we've ever covered. This is a pretty great example of just exactly what we wanted to cover on this podcast!

I don't think this is what Nietzsche had in mind when he wrote about super men, but this is certainly what modern audiences think when they hear that term. I don't know that we've covered two so radically different interpretations of a single character like this before. Donner shows us just what sort of vivid, overly optimistic, and kitschy symbol Superman was in the 70s. He puts together a cast that has... well, they're doing fine with what they have, but I think all of them have done better. Then Snyder looked at that, took a drink of his Code Red Mountain Dew, tilted his trilby (NOT A FEDORA) forward, and typed "edgy" into his Livejournal as he proceeded to take almost everything from Donner and do the opposite. What is it like to go from a crazy color palette to, uhh, 50 shades of brown in the same character's pantheon? I'll tell you, it's not great.

Did you know that a movie called "The Karate Kid" doesn't actually feature any karate? And did you know that it isn't the one from the 80s? Listen, I know it may seem nitpicky, but I assure you that it's one of the least problematic things with the remake. Usually I try to be cute with these descriptions to hide if we liked things or not, but I just can't with this one.SO JOIN US AND FIND OUT IF WE LIKED IT!

Where did you go Brendan? Why couldn't you save us from having to sit through Tom Cruise yelling? Remember when a screwed up version of the trailer with no sound besides random yells appeared on the internet? AND THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE A DARK UNIVERSE MOVIE SET?What a time to be alive. Or Undead. Yeah, I said it. Sue me. Listen to the episode as Zach tortures Paul by making him watch Tom Cruise seduce a "sexy" mummy.

What happens when you take an endlessly quotable 80s action flick and try to reboot it into a slick, 2000s action film? Well, we've actually asked that multiple times on this show, but this time it's an action sci-fi epic: PREDATOR! We'll talk about unnecessary bicep shots, Topher Grace, not having time to bleed, and Danny Trejo's many cinematic deaths. So why don't you just have a seat right there for us and listen in!

Surfers were all the rage in the early 1990s. At least, that's what it feels like. Join us as we watch a pre-total insanity Gary Busey yell at Dr. Cox, then think about how far Delroy Lindo has fallen to be associated with the heated mess of extreme sports and Robin Hood-ing that is the Point Break of the new generation. Did we love either of them? "Love" may be a strong word...

Robert Oliver Copington was a mild-mannered police officer that is about to have a no-good, very-bad day indeed! But fear not, for he is our savior, risen to avenge the people of Detroit, henceforth known as Robocop!Okay, that's not exactly it, but as far as the remake was concerned, it may as well have been. Come with us as we do bad Dutch accents, talk about Jesus, and hear why Paul likes Sam Jackson unfiltered! We're talking Robocop and it's... a thing.
