This is a FANTASTIC actual-play!
This podcast really took me by surprise. I went into Warda intrigued by the premise and world, but was really surprised at how well they delivered on the "Game of Thrones / Downtown Abbey"vibe. This homebrew world exploring a society of all-Fey creatures, having its own rules, structure, hierarchy, politics, culture, and social norms, is easily one of the best examples of worldbuilding I've ever heard in an actual-play podcast, and the world is ever expanding, keeps growing bigger and more complex, and they involve the fans in adding into the creative process. For those that really enjoy a capitol "R" in "Roleplay", this podcast knocks it out of the park when an amazing GM, and wonderful actors who breathe life into fascinating characters who are fleshed out and have endlessly entertaining, endearing, and interesting relationships. Bravo to Aly & Drew, and keep the episodes coming!

A Shockingly Good Time
This show is flat out awesome. Drawing on all the fun of etiquette, fashion, and class politics of Downton Abbey and adding to it the flair of fey, magic, and mechanica, the show has a fantastic original setting that feels like it has weight behind it. The first major arc was pulled from a live stream, so the audio isn't as crisp in places as something recorded and edited with the luxury of multiple takes, etc, but it's still good, and the theme music is delightful. The storytelling is superb. Things from seemingly unrelated adventures all weave back into the greater narrative, and even wildly unexpected character decisions are handled deftly. The entire cast is invested, enthusiastic, and puts in the effort to build the details of the world that take it to the next level. This is absolutely one of my favorite shows.

Right to the Heart
Warda is unlike anything I’ve heard before. Its an excellent blend of socio-political intrigue, fantasy adventure, and a gorgeous fish man that’s too pure for this or any other world. The setting Drew and Ally have come up with is rich, complex, intriguing, and immersive. Through several sagas with different players and characters spanning different times, they weave together a story that feels real and echoes, perhaps too well, actual events and situations in our real history. Its thought provoking and grabs you. I’ve rarely found a piece of fiction that got me as emotionally invested as quickly as Wards.

This AP is worth it!
Warda is one of my favorite AP's. CH24 is good example of why I really like this podcast. Drew is one of the best GM's out there! I really like how he describes in detail situations and environments that characters interact. I learn lots from listening to how a story unfolds and Drew presents circumstances to characters. If you're really into world building, then Warda is also a great example of a super detailed world. Warda helps fulfill my unending desire to be somewhere else!

Life Lessons and Laughs. Listen to Warda.
If you’ve read any of the other reviews or taken a gander at the website (and you really should do both) then you already know that this is a very witty, fun, mysterious, fantasy actual play pod that takes place in an Edwardian type setting. It also makes me laugh out loud A LOT! In public places!! But I’d like to reason with you that this podcast will also affect your life in other ways. Let me just lay out a quote for you from one of the characters from the show: "Your life will be difficult. I can't lie to you about that. But don't ever let your circumstances keep you from being the very best you can be." - Sandir Chundali That quote right there, struck me to my core. I am someone who listens to podcasts for both entertainment *and* as a form of escapism, so when quotes like this come around in the midst of an entirely entertaining landscape it makes me, the scared and anxious woman that I am, think about how I am living my life, and strive to do better. It’s not just the quotes from the characters that are impactful (and don’t even get me started on my obsession with the the people voicing them...they’re so good!). It’s so much more. The relationships between characters, the events that occur, and the circumstances of some of the races (specifically the humans and the pixies!) are all things that stand on their own as part of the story of Warda, but also resonate with circumstances in my own life and in some cases with what’s going on in the world today. Ok, this is already too long, so let me just say, take a listen to this podcast. It will make you laugh, it will make you think, it will make you feel, it will unexpectedly grab your heart and bring you into a wonderful world. Welcome to Warda.

A Wonderous Original
How have I not reviewed this already? Warda does modern intrigue and sensibilities while wearing a tophat. The characters are fun, and the banter is REAL real good. Drew is a fantastic GM, and Aly is a talented audio editor. It starts as audio from a live stream, and the quality increases with each episode. Do yourself a favor and support these creators now, because soon everyone will be talking about Warda.

Amazing New Setting
Warda is the brain child of two talented creators who are building up a wonderful, classic world full of magic and intrigue. All of the political machinations of game of thrones set in an Edwardian era city where the dominant culture are fey with guilds, family houses, and more. It's definitely worth a look if you enjoy Actual Play podcasts.

Truly Amazing
I love listening to this podcast! Trying to list all the things I enjoy would take too long. Definitely my favorite FATE AP podcast. Possibly my favorite AP podcast altogether. It simultaneously scratches and enhances my own itch to play RPGs and FATE in particular.

Unique and adventurous!
The world of Warda has so many possibilities, and the podcast showcases fantastic performances from the players and GMs. There is an additional unique element of audience participation - during the live episodes the podcast was pulled from in the beginning, the chat on Twitch was able to help name items, places, people, and thus participate in the ongoing creation of the world. Patreon patrons have that additional privilege going forward. An exciting adventure!

Fun, Funny, Full of Mystery & Drama!
This podcast of an original tabletop rpg game is a Must-Hear! Set in an Edwardian-themed world of fairies coexisting with humans (think Downton Abbey with fey creatures) Warda: Curiosities starts out as a murder mystery, but evolves into much more. The Game Master(s) create versatile characters and places with distinct voices and features. The Player Characters are witty and relatable. The game setting is still being built, but that only lends pleasure to the listening experience, as the progression of the game continues to flesh out the world of Warda. Check it out, and join the adventure!

Unique setting, excellently performed
Warda is a rare treat. Set in a socially-complex Edwardian-flavoured city-state where fey of various description rule over a human under-class (and pixies get NO respect), this live-play series features an especially strong cast guided through their adventures by a pair of talented GMs. Comedic and dramic elements are both featured in the plotlines, as well as (as of this writing) an ongoing murder mystery. The GMs are the creators responsible for the original setting, so they are perfectly equipped to extend and explain the world as they support the story. The players are delightful and have already forged memorible, consistant characters who not only feel very at home in the setting but are delightfully free of the usual minimizing "race + class, and that's all you need to know about me" descriptors that pop up all too frequently in RPGs. This is not a game of cliches or tropes, but rather something fresh and novel. This particular podcast is the audio-only version of the sessions played out live on Twitch, where the input of viewers is strongly encouraged and often integrated into the action. I would encourage anyone who enjoys these versions to not only continue to enjoy the podcast (so much easier to ingest "just" audio at work!) but also to seek out the livestreams as the chance to interact with the talented cast and even offer some small input into the proceedings is tremendous fun. Oh, and remember: #PixieNamesMatter!
