Found this last night and already listened to every episode. Love listening to you read your grandfather’s diaries and having you tell it like a story. I hope you’re able to continue to record! Mad respect to your grandfather as well!

My father was a tail gunner on a B24 in WWII and he died in exactly the same manner. Planes were trying to get back into position and collided killing all. This is/was an opportunity to tell the tail gunner’s story in the context of what it was like for the fighting men and women but what was our society doing at the same time. This would be wonderful story to tell. I wish I could be given this written material and I would continue this podcast.

The preview was captivating... I hope the grandson of the tail gunner will finish telling this amazing story..

First a few quibbles. Audio recording techniques and constant noticable edits were distracting. However, not everyone ian audio producer (not easy to do), but the story is what is most important. The idea of this person publishing his grandfather's diary is unique. The intiial preview was engaging and I wanted more. Very sad to see he has not followed up on the project for what looks like 4-5 years, but I am sure it is not an easy thing to do. So, for what it's worth, please take my review as encouragement to do more if/when you have the time!

Story deserves a 5 star. The problem is only 1 episode. Incredible story with great real life drama and nothing in 4 years since posted. It’s a waste.... too bad.

Well, the first episode was terrific. A superb narrative on the topic, but I cannot find any more episodes. What a cruel trick to play on us, your would-be loyal and supportive listeners. I can only wonder. Did the author lose interest and give up after the first episode? Move the whole project to another host and neglect to even tell us? Regardless, its hugely dissapointing to get settled into a great story, only to discover its been abandoned by the author/host, and now lies dorment for a few years. Oh, poo!

It’s great hearing the honest sounding tales of a young man coming of age and heading to war. It’s also refreshing to hear that these were normal young men and society wasn’t what Norman Rockwell painted.
