Formally great podcast recently turned into a propaganda outlet
I loved this podcast but the last episode was so based I had to unsubscribe. The pro-Israel shill was allowed to deliver 1 full hour of solid propaganda that essentially said Hamas wakes up every day and doesn’t care if babies are killed, in fact, hopes babies are killed. If Israel kills babies or forgiven aide workers it is simply a a targeting error that the virtuous Israels quickly corrected. Guest was freely allowed to speak of Hamas intentions like he was a founding member. Used to turn to this podcast to escape from the usual media shills but it looks like Angry Planet is now picking sides. Terrible loss of a formally great podcast.

Hilariously inaccurate
There’s nothing more pathetic than a couple white guys coming together to make a podcast thinking the world needs to hear their opinions—only for it to be filled with inaccuracies. Maybe do some googling before you yap about a topic. Embarrassing.

Progressives Playing at War
The real problem is not their recent capitulation to anti-Israeli pressure, the bending of their wills to the idea that a ceasefire in Gaza is going to help people when it will only prolong the suffering. Hamas needs to be destroyed and anything else will have made the entire war pointless. No, the real problem is the cognitive dissonance they create between their love of military history and style while clearly being too afraid to support the US or Israel when it needs to use their military for actual objectives. Criticism is needed, but it takes critical thought. They mostly parrot long standing progressive shibboleths. Interesting shows on history mixed with incongruent takes on modern politics.

Super informative!
Hosts always ask their amazing guests really good questions, and do their best to remain objective. Great way to get a quick view of the status of the world.

Moral war in a tight space? IDF propaganda!
Very disappointed in this episode. I appreciate the hosts kinda pushing back, but why even platform this propaganda. It is such bad faith, disingenuous rhetoric. Might as well just had an IDF spokesperson on. 🤮. The IDF refused civilians the ability to leave while also withholding aide. Israel gave notice for civilians to leave? The civilians had no place to go. I normally give five star reviews, but highly disappointed in this IDF disingenuous propaganda episode. Negative stars.

Unique perspective on foreign policy
Been following since the War College days, and Angry planet consistently offers insights that you won’t find anywhere else in the mainstream foreign policy scene. Every episode is an absolute must listen!

Too Subjective
I found this show through other Journalists I trust. Their takes have often seemed a bit uninformed and subjective, but since October it’s gone too far. I could turn on MSNBC or even Fox to get similar coverage.

Sigh
Loved this podcast for years, but like so many others they point at a few kids in rich private schools blabbing to look away from a war steeped in illegal behavior. I'd say immoral but they wouldn't care about that, as long as it was legal.

Embarrassing
Latest episode is a pretty spineless non-take on Gaza. I believe it’s possible to have the moral clarity to condemn what certainly does amount to ethnic cleansing and genocidal intentions (no matter how blithe the three of you are about dismissing that accusation without discussion or explanation) while also maintaining some analytical rigor, though perhaps you’d have to exert some amount of effort to do it.

It’s ok
The show has generally gone downhill in the past few years. I like Matthew Gault, but I don’t know why his podcasts immediately punish the listeners ears with terrible intro sounds.

Angry planet and unbiased accounts of political history and current events
What is happening in Ukraine and Israel are similar. Both countries populations are made up primarily of Jews. As mentioned by Jason’s wife back in the winter who is herself a historian on Ukraine. I wish they would be able to get Walid Phares, counterintelligence for Mideast, to discuss Hamas, Hezbollah and ties with Iran.

Great to know what think tanks say
Informative show but the hosts rarely challenge their guests. Basically if you want to know what the DOD Think tank crowd thinks, this is a good place to start.

Brilliant!
This is the perfect choice for anyone interested in learning more about global affairs! Each episode is informative and enjoyable.

Go look at the 2 star reviews and laugh.
This show highlights so many injustices and nuances of global affairs, geopolitics, and conflict. The conservatives/Republicans just hate that things change even though they don’t know how to and this show is just another factor in that equation. The world is getting more authoritarian and dark and it takes great courage to stand out against those ideologies in the way Angry Planet does and I hope through all the snowflake, conservative tears, the creators see the value in their work and continue to combat the spread of awful ideas. Well done folks! Hope perseveres.

Angry angry liberal podcast?
I’ve followed this podcast since the old Reuters days. Probably 40%of the topics now are worth listening to. Every topic used to be good and just dispensing information. I’m sure they’ll just say I’m a republican/conservative/right wing extremist as anyone that doesn’t agree with their world view and politics is in that camp. I’m none of those things but get tired of bias and an obvious and open slant and that’s what they put out at least 60% of the time. It makes me sad as this used to be in my top five and now I don’t listen for six months, give it a shot again and and don’t make it through most before I skip. It’s their prerogative to put out what they want and I respect that, it just isn’t what it used to be. They don’t realize they’re doing exactly what they rail about their political opposites of doing. And then when they let one of their guests go off about how smart Antifa was trolling the proud boys or something. Opposite sides of the same coin guys.

Objective: This Is Not.
I’ve been a listener to Angry Planet for over a year (maybe 2?) and was going to subscribe to their paid content; just can’t do it. They only invite guests who are in agreement with their worldview and perspective. The podcast contains much pontificating but very little thoughtful discourse. In the « Not Worth Your Time » category. Unsubscribed.

Still liberal. Still biased.
More diverse base of guests. Wow. You’d greatly increase your listener base. It currently screams one sidedness with the inability to understand other viewpoints. Great “journalism” here, just matching the mainstream Liberal attitudes
Hammer jammer.
Outstanding!
In-depth Conflict reporting with zero pretense and an eye on history and how things got to be the way they are. Balanced, thoughtful analysis. Well worth subscribing to!

Total garbage
They should change the name of this podcast to everyone I disagree with is racist/fascist. I will never understand this mind set if you hate this country so much and see it as irredeemably racist why are you staying here.

The Alamo
I found this podcast innocently enough trying to find some new information about the history of the Alamo. I was given some new “information” alright. I listened to this revisionist history episode and that was enough for me. The history of Texas and the Alamo has many complex stories and it wasn’t just about slavery. This is a 21st century retelling short on facts and long on opinions and suspect research. These authors wrote a book to try to give a modern retelling on this event and claim its well researched but is it? By the way, there was no international law at the time and Santa Ana was a egomaniacal madman who was President of Mexico 5 times. Also, Mexico had slavery. It was called indentured servitude. You may want to research that. The history of Texas was made by flawed people who didn’t always make the best decisions and it was messy. Has it been overdramatized by Hollywood, yes. But the real story is very compelling and the men are heroes. Sometimes, heroes are flawed, but we shouldn’t judge them on their worst moments. The Revolution had to do with governance and how the Texians were to be governed. The Mexican government reneged on their original promises when Santa Anna took power which was cause for the war. In fact, the colonists, including Austin, tried to prevent the war. That is why flag of 1824 was flown over the Alamo. The Texan defenders were of many races and ethnicities. It wasn’t white Americans against Mexicans. Don’t let that mess up the modern spin though. They state many times that the story is a myth but they never explain the myth part. All they want to talk about is the Disney’s Davy Crockett and the John Wayne movie. Those stories are fiction. The real story is much more interesting and compelling with flawed people coming together from all different backgrounds to fight for the cause of freedom and self determination. Was it the best it could’ve been for all involved, no, but it was a start of something that has turned out to be great as it has evolved over time and tribulation. Of course there is controversy about the story, all but a small few died and can’t tell the tale. Facts are that they men did die and they did show bravery, heroism and bought Sam Houston time to build his army. See the Runaway Scrape. There is enough evidence in the accounts of the people that were there on both sides to agree on those facts. Your conclusions are all wrong. In listening to this, I found two glaring errors in the first five minutes that undermine the entire podcast. The fact that they want to be mentioned in the same breath as the 1619 Project is all I need to know. Most historians who are serious people don’t give the project much weight as it is short on facts and long on opinions, much like this podcast. I don’t want to say this was a complete waste of time that can’t ever be reclaimed but it wasn’t good. You can’t forget the Alamo because what those men sacrificed is worth remembering. Santa Anna basically called the Alamo insignificant and not worth remembering. The authors and Santa Anna have that in common. They can’t understand why it is worth remembering. The authors have the free speech rights to publish their opinions but it does not mean they are of any value. History is supposed to add to the collective knowledge but I’m not sure that they did that. Such is the flaw.

Bad takes, maybe propaganda
There has to be a target demo for this but I’m not sure who it would be. Bad takes after stating clear facts.

Deep dives, prescient questions
Longtime listener. I appreciate how Jason and Matthew hook me in topics I didn’t expect to find interesting. Good variety of guests and the hosts ask the questions we are wondering about. Intellectually rigorous in a podcast landscape littered with people just trying to be witty with no depth.

More biased propaganda
Typical biased propaganda subliminally pushing leftist ideology. Save your time and listen to something that’s apolitical like popular front

Not impartial
This podcast is very biased and lacks expertise on most subjects. They only explore topics through a narrow lens. Amateur at best!

Yeah, It’s great
Listened to it back when it was called War College, In the Reuters days. Matt is my fave. I was overjoyed hearing him lol up on waypoint as well. There are more podcasts in this genre than when it started but this one still provides unique guests and topics. Don’t like Bad reviews, they are just mad someone is being somewhat critical of Israel.

Podcast is fine
Recently Salty Lukidniks and Dominionists have been giving it 1 stars because it doesn’t coddle to their feelings or entertain their entitlements. Wears Bias On It’s Sleeve - Hard Pass
My goodness. If they’re going for impartial, unbiased discussion, reporting, or discourse - this crew lost it within the first 6min of their Jerusalem episode in May. I gave this podcast a shot today hoping to hear a good executive summary or factual roll up, with some analysis for flavor. Instead I got some 3rd rate freelance western journo that writes opinion pieces for NYT and TWP... This is your expert? Within the first few minutes of the host asking for her take on the situation in Israel, she immediately launches into a tirade lambasting the Israeli Govt, criticizing Netanyahu, bemoaning the Palestinian condition, etc etc. You guys couldn’t have pulled a more authoritative, perhaps more moderate interviewee? A waste of time. Give this a pass until the hosts can figure out that geopolitical analysis doesn’t equate to blatant agenda propagation. Wow.

Not what it used to be. Less informative; great subjects/headlines; seems like the kind of one-sided editorializing people would go to podcasts in order to get away from.

One of my all time favs! Great analysis, interesting topics and all within a predictable amount of time. Keep it up Matt and Jason.

Interesting and educational - cool topics
I’ve listened this pod for a while now, back during the war college days. Always look forward to the next episode. The topics are wide ranging, relevant to current events and almost always interesting. Reading through other comments, seems some think the pod leans to far to the left - I strongly disagree. Topics are not usually political, nor do they push any specific view point onto the listener. For those of you complaining about the intro music.. It’s the dang into music.. not why we are listening to the podcast. I happen to think it’s cool. Overall, it’s definitely worth a listen. This was one of the first podcasts I listened to when I figured out what a podcast was and have enjoyed it ever since.

Gone to far left
This was a decent podcast at one time. But now you have gone to far left. Lies after lies. Really a one sided viewpoint now. Keep talking about Nazi and fascism. Remember they are socialist. You try to tear down Western Values. The western values that ended slavery first in their own countries. Then world wide. The Western values that brought the world light and a better living conditions. Medicine to stop diseases and plagues. That put a man into space and on the moon. Russia has mostly Western Values. It also brought the ISM’s into being.

Great show, rough intro!
Hey guys, I have been a fan for a while, love the content and guests! You just have to soften that intro! Gratuitous sounds effects and War of the Worlds-like sound bombs are totally unnecessary! Bring back the good ol’ War College intro! Ok, hope your Friday rocks!

Left wing anti police
Horrible show who only interviews leftist so-called reporters who say the riots were peaceful. What a joke!

Used to be great
Now the podcast has become far left.

Good Analysis
Listen for yourself to verify, but this pod gives you good analysis and in-depth conversation about geopolitical and national events. Are they critical of Trump? Yes, and deservingly so. Are they critical of the far left? Yes, and deservedly so. I’ve listened to half a dozen episodes thus far, and the hosts remain objectively honest and educated about the topic, with well informed guests. Definitely worth a listen.

Purposely distorting the facts
A lot of bad research here, i listened to a few eps and after some research to find out further info I learned that this podcast does a lot of misleading and representation of the facts. Be very careful about this podcast as I feel this might not be on accident. 🤙🏻

Listen if you only want one side of the story
Interesting that you only push one side of the story...it would have been interesting except it was one -sided and completely dismissed actions on the left. As well, violent protests are called riots.

Why the US may come out on top with China
While I’m sure your political option is important can’t say your failure to acknowledge the gains the current administration has made in handling the CCP is very objective. I know it was difficult, for you both, to interview someone who actually objectively looks at and studies China was difficult. Particularly, when your guest mentioned the positive accomplishments of the administration in dealing with the CCP. If you could look at the situation objectively both economically and militarily you both might find that great strides have been made in developing an American lead Indo-Pacific response to the CCPs threat to the world. But instead your glasses remained fogged with an elitist belt way opinion which refuses to see or acknowledge any gains. I could simply mention India as an example of the two sides of this coin. Don’t worry, I’m still a loyal follower, if your podcast, but wish often that your presentations where more journalistically objective, but then that might cause you issues at the next DC wine & cheese party you attended. Study some of the facts around the relationships being built, and enhanced, to deal with the CCP, and use some of that moral courage they spoke of in journalism class and you just might discover some interesting facts. P.S. Just to site something presented on one our your past shows, which shows how lazy you two are sometimes; that would be your insistence that the F-35 lacking a direct fire gun platform, at the time of the show, made the weapons platform a bust. This clearly shows you failed to do your homework about what the aircraft brings to the modern battlefield. Even though it now has a direct fire weapon, you insisted it’s lack of made it not worth us investing in. Had you used simple open source information available, to the average eight grader, and studied it you would have realized what the jets capabilities are. That the direct fire World War II dogfight defeats its purposes. I’m sorry, even a layman from the fly over zone, willing to do homework, sees what this aircraft brings to a digital based, sensor driven battle space. I would challenge you to have another show on the F-35, do your homework, bring in knowledgeable guest, on both sides, and recognize openly how flawed your line of questioning and assumptions where. Again, this would require the principle of journalist integrity you learned of years ago in the classroom, but have generally fail to apply. Your profession demands this principals application even when it makes you less popular on the DC cocktail circuit. Keep plugging away, and I’ll keep listening while having to filter out the opinionated propaganda you two often add to any project. But then, I’ve, unfortunately, had to do this most of my life when watching, reading and listening to quote unquote Journalism. Just an opinion from one mere mortal in the fly over zone. All the best my friends and I mean that sincerely

Awesome podcast. A listener from the beginning in 2015.
I started listening to War College when it started up under Reuters in 2015. It is hands down one of my favorite podcasts ever. Matthew Gault and Jason Fields do a great job at being politically impartial as interviewers and their selection of guests has guided to me other contributors and their respective works. My only issue has been with Robert Evans as a guest due to his excessive profanity (which surprised me even as an Army veteran). However, I love the show and am excited about the reflagging of it as Angry Planet soon. Keep up the good work! I’ll be with the show until wheels fall off.

Downhill Slide
I listened awhile ago, and have been checking in over the last few years. This show went from an educational look at war to a smarmy opinionated editorial of conflicts. While overall I tend to be on the same side, opinion wise, the arrogance and sarcasm is too much. Their guests have turned into people with clear agendas to discredit their opposing sides or prop up their own topics/areas of study. Its also become unreliable in regards to the support provided for certain points of view.
