I’m a lifelong Georgian and I love the podcast. I did go to college in SC and discovered the radio show when my son was in college in SC. I do think that the podcast needs more episodes about the history of women.

I enjoy all of your cultural and historical programs, but I especially enjoyed today’s conversation with Dr. Kathleen DuVal about our colonial history with Indigenous Americans.

Thank you for teaching me so much about our amazing state! I’ve enjoyed your content for years!

I love the show because it was unique to South Carolina southern history, it seems like they are no longer interviewing true SC natives. The show is quickly becoming a show of people from the outside writing nothing but books about race and politics, very disappointing

I love Walter Edgars Journal. One suggestion is since you’re a podcast now, there’s no need to limit the conversation length. I’m not a fan of limiting each show to 30 minutes. Can’t wait for new guests and topics that are ahead. It’s awesome to live in a state like no other and have a someone like no other to survey South Carolina history.

I was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina but have lived in the D.C. or N.Y.C. environs for the last 35 years. I found Walter Edgar’s Journal several weeks ago and I’ve binge listened constantly since. It’s been joyous. Every story, every guest. It feels like home.

Great and informative podcast. He always has interesting topics and guest as he discusses South Carolina history. His engagement with them is always conversational and keeps my attention, even when I'm doing light work on the computer.

Every Friday at 5 minutes to 12, I rush to my car, tilt back the seat, turn on NPR and relax ..... listening to Walter Edgar’s Journal is truly some of the most enjoyable time I spend each week. I am never let down. The details of history that are shared between him and his guests holds my interest, fascinated me and teaches me ..... only to be saddened when the hour comes to an end. Even the sensitive issues are discussed in the most factual and effective manner that it never becomes uncomfortable. Highly recommend!
