Walking Life Together
Walking Life Together
Heather Gibson
Do you sometimes struggle with your focus? Struggle with living (and loving) like Jesus in a world that doesn’t always look or feel a whole lot like Him? Are you allowing the culture around you to guide your life instead of being guided by His truth and the ultimate command…to love like Him? This can be a struggle for all of us, but at the end of the day, walking in love should be our highest goal. No matter how hard this feels…it is the goal. Loving others means compromise. It means having those hard conversations. Loving others can even mean not always sharing your opinion. (It’s okay to sit a discussion out. We don’t have to reply to everything we see, read, or hear.) Sometimes it can mean just being still. Loving others also means walking life with them. In order to walk life with someone else, we have to compromise on some things. We must be willing to have those hard conversations … with the intent to remain friends! We’re not called to walk life alone. Join me every other week as I dive into different topics about situations we all face and let’s navigate this life together. If you are struggling with things you see around you, not sure how to respond to situations in life, or maybe you’re sure you’ve inserted your foot into your mouth (as I have many times in my life) and you want to learn how not to do that, then this show is for you. Join me and let’s walk life together.
Do We Walk as a Victim or in Victory? (Episode 10)
Living with a victim mindset or holding on to an offense doesn't allow us to grow, or at least not in healthy ways. How we think affects our lives. It's important that we choose not to live angry, that we choose to forgive, that we choose to live as an overcomer.  Join me as I talk about how God told me I needed to release some things instead of rehearsing them. Rehearsing wasn't allowing me to move forward. I was staying stuck...which is not a good place to be. Growth doesn't occur in the land of stuck.

Don't Take the Bait (Episode 9)
Don’t take the bait. That’s what I’ve felt, or should I say, that’s what I’ve thought a lot lately as I watch people take a headline and run with it, sharing their thoughts and opinions on a topic that they may or may not have all the facts on. Those presenting the information know that if they can grab you with the headline, they’ve got you. But what is a headline? It’s certainly not the full story. Is it truth? Or just a piece of the story, maybe a partial truth? Well, a partial truth isn’t truth at all. If someone has to use a partial truth to get my attention and try to convince me of something, I want nothing to do with their story. As we navigate things, lets remember to think on these things - whatever is true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of a good report. These things will bring peace and we could certainly use more of that in our lives. Thank you for listening! If you enjoy this show, I would love it if you would rate and review the show.

What's On Your Plate? (Episode 8)
What’s on your plate? Is your plate full? While serving is important, serving in what God has created us for is the place we need to be. We can “do” A LOT of “good things,” but we’re not called to do ALL things. We each have gifts, areas that we’re called to serve in. In this episode I share a little about different seasons I've walked through in ministry and how God clearly told me, "Heather, if your plate is too full doing "good things," you will tell Me no when I call you to serve." Thank you for listening.

Our 'Yes' Affects More Than Just Us (Episode 7)
When God calls us out, our response has a ripple effect. Our "yes" and our "no" play a role in the lives of those around us ... possibly reaching people far beyond what we see. In this episode, I share how God spoke to me about my obedience in regards to the Embrace Grace ministry. I discuss how He lovingly told me, "your yes to this ministry wasn't just about you, Heather." Where we go and what we do has a bigger impact than we realize. Is God calling you to something? I would love to hear about it! Join me on this show and connect with me afterwards via email ([email protected]) or in the Facebook Group "Walking Life Together."

He Goes Before Us (Episode 6)
Sometimes in life we walk hard roads, but in those times, God goes before us. And not only does He go before us, but He's ever-present in times of trouble. God used Mark 2 to once again teach me about the importance of friendship. In this show I share a few stories about how God used a hard season I walked through to prepare me to walk similar roads with others. While these times are difficult, I am thankful for the opportunities to be used by God to love others.

Who or What Are We Magnifying?
At times we magnify a person or situation without realizing it. We increase someone or something above Christ. When this occurs, it's time to check our focus. Focusing on the natural too much can knock us off course spiritually.  Adjusting our focus so our gaze is on Him will help us look more like Christ and less like the world. The world has enough chaos and darkness. Let us be light, bringing peace and hope to those around us.

Commitment (Episode 4)
This episode is about the importance of commitment and what that looks like when we are part of a church body. Our church families love us and desire that we jump in and walk life with them. Your gifts and talents are needed! Your hugs are needed! YOU are NEEDED! Everyone needs a YOU!

Friendship and Loving Others
On today's episode we look at the story from Mark 2 about the 4 friends who brought their friend through the roof to meet Jesus. Meeting Jesus is life changing! Let us be this kind of friend ... the friend who tears off a roof to bring people to the Savior.

Called To Use My Voice (Episode 2)
On this episode, I discuss the decision to start this podcast. I share a few stories about when God spoke to me through different people, as well as through the book "The Last Arrow" by Erwin Raphael McManus. After a few nudges (isn't that God's way...gently nudging us until we go), I realized it was time to step out. It is my moment to be brave, be bold, and move into this call for my life. You are also encouraged to step out. He will make a way when He calls you!
