We didn't really "Walk a Mile" so much as gymnastic-ed a mile. Olympic Gold Medalist and local gymnastics gym revolution starter Dominique Dawes invited us into her Rockville gymnastics and ninja gym. I definitely impressed her with my couch-to-balance beam skills, but we also had a thoughtful and thought-provoking conversation about how her experience with sports as a kid still informs her business and life to this day. It was 2008 when David Cook was beamed into our living rooms ... he won a little song contest called "American Idol" that year. At the top of his success his brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and passed away on May 2nd the next year. David, who has recorded seven albums and EPs, has remained a fierce advocate in the fight to beat brain tumors. This year is the Race For Hope's twenty-fifth anniversary.
