In the past we’ve talked about how impactful and statistically proven it is that when we write things we intend to do they are more likely to happen on prior episodes. Why should your bucket list or long term visions be any different? A vision board is a great tool for anyone to just show visually what their intentions are to keep their eye the prize, stay top of mind, and help create regular action to move towards the things we want the most. On today’s episode I talk about what they are, how they can be made in a number of ways, and where I think the ideal location of one is to help you go after the things you want to tackle before you are out of this world! A 0 bs talk on a self help principle I find very helpful to have around my office and think to.
Let us know what you think of this episode and hit me up @davewakeup on social or [email protected].
In This Episode We Cover
What is a vision board?
Why use one?
What should be on a vision board?
Where should it be located?
Writing down goals or putting them into a physical form make them more likely to succeed
Make it how YOU want
Ways to make a vision board visually appealing as a room piece and not noticeable right off the bat to others if you don’t want to share yet
Examples from my personal board
Quote’s
“These are the things that I intentionally put time, energy, and money into to make them happen like 100%. This is a thing that’s going to happen in the 5200 weeks I’m alive. “ - Host Dave Swillum
“ Have a bunch of images that represent things that are part of your vision in a way that is appealing, exciting, and in a place that you see frequently.” - Host Dave Swillum

After hearing many creatives / business owners discuss feeling like they are over posting and from the other side not feeling or seeing that at all I wanted to talk about it. Anyone that isn’t an ego maniac feels a little bit of guilt plugging their own thing in general or like they are posting their content a little bit too much but I’ve almost never seen someone do that in real life. On today’s episode we talk briefly through promoting your creative or business with social and outreach without being “too much” and some of the ways to identify. Action verses results, public perception, and touch points for action.
Let us know what you think of this episode and hit me up @davewakeup on social or [email protected].
In This Episode We Cover
You aren’t posting too much
Social is a moving target
Perception v reality
What they actually see v what it feels like for us
We are posting to something much more complicated than what it feels like to us
Average of 7 touch points with one person to get someone to take an action in something
Types of content and the changes in how it is perceived
What actually bothers people and what doesn’t?
Giving content breaks & planning strategically
Quote’s
“ Almost no-one ever posts too much.” - Host Dave Swillum
“ The amount that you are posting isn’t necessarily what people see.” - Host Dave Swillum
“ It’s way quitter in real life than it is in your head.” - Host Dave Swillum

Let’s bust down the myth that you need to live as a starving artist. On this episode today we talk through many new ways to bring in income from what you have already or reduce overhead cost so we can focus on what we love or design our life to do what we love and have the overhead we feel comfortable with. So many people have given up on their passion because they thought they couldn’t support a family or themselves the way they want but fail to put in place some planning to help them accommodate or make the income they want while doing what they love and take some of the stress and grind off themselves as they build their dream. Brief episode today on someways to approach. You can have your cake and eat it too, you don’t need to starve to be an artist.

Today’s episode is a reminder for those working in what they love and a cautionary note for those going after it or thinking about it. When we start doing what we love as a business or a life style seriously it’s really easy to follow that professionalism and drive into an unhealthy space that ruins both for us. On today’s episode we speak briefly to keeping something available that doesn’t need to matter so you can keep that reason you got into what you love in the first place alive and spill it into everything you do.
