Columbia/Boone County health officials say a Harrisburg woman who makes home-cooked breakfasts for the community at no charge at her home is violating the food code. The Goldwater Institute disagrees with that and says the federal and Missouri constitutions protect Kathy Kite’s right to host farmers and others in her home. Columbia/Boone County Health Department spokesperson Austin Krohn tells 939 the Eagle that Kite is in violation of the food code which states “A person shall not operate a food establishment without a valid permit to operate issued by the regulatory authority.” Harrisburg resident Dewayne Southerland is one of the residents who gets coffee and food at Kathy's home. A longtime Missouri deputy attorney general has been rescued after climbing Wyoming’s highest peak, Gannett Peak. Sublette County Sheriff’s deputies in Wyoming say 55-year-old Shaun Mackelprang was found alive Wednesday near a lake following a search that included a helicopter and ground search teams. Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway joined us live on "Wake Up Missouri", telling listeners that she appreciates everyone who sent prayers and that Mr. Mackelprang is expected to make a full recovery. She says he remains hospitalized. General Hanaway also discussed a key settlement on the show. She spent part of last week at the Missouri state fair in Sedalia:

U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt (R) traveled to the Missouri state fair in Sedalia on Thursday and then headed to Memorial Stadium at Mizzou in Columbia. He toured the $250-million Memorial Stadium improvement project.
