Josh is back again this week. We had so much fun talking about the Coen brothers, we decided to go in a completely different end of the movie spectrum with 1993's Last Action Hero. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the biggest start on the planet at the time, and he stars in this movie about a boy who gets a magical movie ticket, and ends up INSIDE the movie! So, does this movie deserve the box office bomb label it has? Or is it the cult classic that some have said it is in recent years? This week, Josh Munro, aka Joosh, is back to talk about a movie Travis hasn't seen before. It's the debut feature film from Joel and Ethan Coen, Blood Simple. The plot revolves around a man putting a contract kill out on his wife, and her lover. But when he ends up shot, things quickly get out of control. A private investigator with questionable morals, a pearl handled revolver, and a guy who just won't seem to die. So does this hold up to the high standards of other Coen brothers films? Or is it a stumble out of the box for the first time filmmakers? Let's find out...Thanks go out to Audie Norman (@TheAudieNorman) for the album art. This week, Gary Fisher (The Senior Geek) is joining the show to talk about seeing The Exorcist for the very first time. Often cited as "The Scariest Movie ever Made", it's about a young girl named Reagan who is possesed by a demon. Or is she? The doctors don't seem to think so, but her mother knows something is happening, and she looks to Father Karras for help. Starring Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Jason Miller, and Max Von Sydow. Is this movie as scary as it's reputation makes it out to be? Or is it just a long and somewhat boring movie from the 1970s? Let's fine out...Check out Gary's newletter, Diary of a Senior Geek at seniorgeek.substack.comThanks go out to Audie Norman (@TheAudieNorman) for the album art. This week, Kitlondon is back to talk about more AI. This time though, we're going back to the early 80s, and it's less about AI, and more about hacking. We watched Wargames, starring Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy. When a High School student hacks in to a government computer thinking he's just playing a game, he accidently puts in to motion events that could start World War III. So, is it just a product of it's time, dated and out of touch? Or is there more here that makes it the classic that some believe it to be?
