They’re fine
I listen occasionally. The hosts ramble a bit and take awhile to make their points. Could use some editing. The FF episodes are fun. Their fascination with Steve Engelhart is bewildering.

Used to be a fun podcast with Jeff & Graeme talking comics & stuff but now with the insufferable Chloe joining in it’s become unlistenable. Sorry guys.

Lovely middle aged couple chat mostly about comics.
One of them hates Alan Moore, the other has a fairer assessment. Both of them have broad and varied tastes. I’ve definitely followed them and picked up good comics over the years. There’s something for most kinds of everyone and it is one of only two great Podcasts on comics.
If this podcast had a trailer, you’d basically see a long montage of two men laughing gleefully, flirting with each other in a BBC period piece adaptation style (blah blah male cocky tone and smugness followed by oh dear blah blah pithy English insult dressed like charisma) and basically acting out a very long and unconsummated engagement. This is In the Mood for Love meets Ewan Dworkin.
Will they or won’t they perhaps steal as much as a kiss? Will the wallpaper be made of comic covers as the stars blink entranced?
The podcast is as much about the business of those who makes comics, comics themselves as it is of two men who read them and their enduring lovely friendship.
How about a crossover rap (?) battle with Silence! (The other only great podcast). As Jeff from this podcast said once, ‘they fight in a Stan lee kind of way. Where whoever lost could almost have beaten the winner but really everybody one! That kind of battle.

Fantastic!
I'm not a huge comic book reader but I got sucked into this podcast. I love the hosts and they are so knowledgable. Not to mention they are hilarious which makes it so much more enjoyable. It's a fun listen for sure!

Best comic review podcast
There are many comic podcast that I've started listening to and a few weeks into it I get bored with it stop listening. I think the highest praise I can give Wait What is that I'm still listening a year later.
Update. Still listening 9 years later. Keep it up guys.

WAIT...WHAT?! IS A DELIGHT!
The Armstrong and Archer of podcasting! Jeff (The thing is...”) Lester and Graeme (“Here’s the thing...”) McMillan are two long time comics fans examining comic books and pop culture, often providing insightful commentary, behind the scenes context, fascinating anecdotes and what if’s. The conversation between these two old friends is so fluid , warm, and hilarious you’ll wonder how every 2 hour episode could feel like the fun only just got started.

Fantastic Four is so darn good and this podcast makes it even better. If Marvel ever brings FF back for a monthly series I think that you two should write it. Excelsior!

Smart, pleasant, hamstrung by ideology
Wait, What? is the comics podcast for you if you fancy yourself an intellectual and thought Donald Trump was going to put gay people in concentration camps.
It's honestly probably the smartest comics podcast out there, and the discussion is at the level of most college courses -- but neither of those accolades really says very much nowadays.
In typical liberal white male fashion, both guys are somehow guilt-ridden, and pleased with themselves, and self-deprecating, and smug all at once. It's actually fine listening as long as you don't think too much about the deep inner pain that these aging childless men must be constantly repressing.
In typical modern-day journalistic fashion, the podcast puts forth a wealth of information and yet is totally oblivious to key facts that would crystalize (or refute) their arguments. You can hear them talk for literally three hours over the course of two podcasts about how "diversity" is not killing sales, and yet not once in those three hours do they cite any sales figures. Both guys are extremely knowledgeable about the industry, but they lack basic common sense and inductive reasoning skills. For instance, they will complain about the high price point of a graphic novel, emphasizing again and again the dedicated fanbase that would be interested in it, without bothering to consider that sales for the property have actually been quite small, and thus obviously the price on the graphic novel is high because the publisher would need to charge that much to produce a product with a very limited audience. Limited audience = larger cover price to justify production. Sounds simple. But the Wait, What? guys are instead stuck in the emotional loop of "Ugh why so pricey? People really like! Should be cheaper! Ugh why??? Argh mean corporation business capitalism!!!"
The guys also assume that their own social media bubble constitutes reality. They can't fathom why the comics industry doesn't cater 100% to the tastes of their friends on Tumblr. They become obsessively nervous whenever a comics company does anything with even the slightest shade of meaning that might offend Twitter, and they will spend an hour worrying about how Marvel and DC can possibly patch things up and apologize for misinterpreted offensiveness. Even when they acknowledge that really it is mostly a misunderstanding, never once will they place the onus on the social media crew to simply become a better, fairer, more rational audience. Instead it is all always a big offensive kurfuffle, very "problematic" and troubling. My word, it is all a huge scandal, as if someone forgot to cover their nose when they sneezed in the presence of a duchess in an 18th century European court!
The show is nonetheless enjoyable because of the host's knowledge and general amicability. They have spirited discussions and are generally in good humor. They care about the comics they like, and this comes through. But at the end of the day you have to keep in mind that these are two adult precocious children in their 40s and 50s whose favorite comic is Squirrel Girl, and they go through life believing that Squirrel Girl is actually a hit with young people, women, and minorities. And yet here they are, two straight white guys in their 40s or 50s, and actually Squirrel Girl is more or less... for them. They ostensibily consider themselves liberal and progressive, and yet they buy comics owned by Disney and Warner Bros., and their online presence is devoted to promoting films and other entertainment media made by the same corporations, whom they despise.
Under the surface it's all a troubling morass of hypocrisy and end-of-cycle cultural dysfunction, but on the surface at least it makes for engaging listening.

Fantastic! A podcast to look forward to
Hysterical and frank, "What, What?" is always fun to listen to. Whether it's comics, tv/movies, or whatever topic happens to send them into the weeds, it's highly entertaining and educated.

Intelligent Comic Book Talk

Bias
Journalistic integrity be damned, this podcast shows how deep DC/marvel bias runs. Graham was obviously a DC guy, and that's fine. Just know there is no neutral ground here when that discussion comes up. Better just to own it instead of playing at being impartial. I do really enjoy the industry insights these guys have, so I keep listening.

Hands down my favorite podcast. Mellow, fun, with knowledgable hosts and erudite conversations about everything from golden age books to manga to the comic book industry's latest attempts to shoot itself in the foot.

My go-to comics podcast
Knowledgeable, conversational, funny and insightful -- Wait, What? is one of the highlights of my week. I started listening because of Graeme McMillan, whose writing I've long admired, but Jeff Lester is a large part of what keeps me coming back. Neither host takes himself too seriously (unlike so many other comics podcasters) and I find I often learn something interesting even if I disagree with one or the other on a creator, book, or topic.

My Favorite Podcast
Wait, What? is the podcast I most look forward to hearing. Jeff and Graeme mix humor and insight in a way that is not typical for a comic book podcast. I appreciate that unlike a lot of other comics podcasts, they are not afraid to talk negatively about books, and even though their derision can be somewhat ardent at times, it never really comes off as mean-spirited. Their love of the form shows through and you can tell they just want to make things better. I don't always agree with what they say, but I am always entertained by it and I respect their opinions and vast knowledge of the industry. I especially like that Graeme's formative comic book reading years were (like me) as a DC fan, a rarity in the comics podcasting world, which can be a bit Marvel-centric. Yet they cover DC, Marvel and independents all equally and apply the same level of cogent analysis and wit to it all. I even enjoy their digressions into other areas of pop culture and their personal lives. I hope they keep it up for a long time!
Oh, and with the addition of the monthly Baxter Building podcasts, they actually got me to read along with the classic Lee/Kirby Fantastic Four run (and beyond), which I probably never would've done without their commentary. My comic book IQ and art form appreciation has been greatly enriched by that. So, thanks guys!

The only comic news podcast you need
Graeme and Jeff always have a great take on the current comic and movie news of the day, but that’s only half the fun—what’s even better are their thoughtful reviews and retrospectives (finally spinning off Baxter Building, their big read-along of Fantastic Four Vol. 1) where they mine some amazing stuff out of decades-old comics that you’d thought for sure that everything that could be said about them had been by now.
Fantastic podcast!

Funny, with a loose hangout vibe. Jeff and Graeme are smart, well-read and opinionated comics culture gadflies.

The rare truly great comics podcast.
Jeff & Graeme put on a great show, where the appeal is more about hearing these guys check in with each other than the comics they are discussing. I never miss it.

I care more about the hosts' juice cleanses than I ever thought possible
Conversational and wholly delightful, this podcast is fascinating even when as a relative comics newbie I don't understand what on earth their latest tangent is about. Their free form talks mean their topics vary widely, but are always super interesting and frequently hilarious. Their analysis of books is in-depth and fascinating, and often differs from what you hear on a lot of other comics media. It's got me interested in books that I never would have considered or didn't know existed, like Kirby's 2001 A Space Odyssey and other great titles. Really, they're two interesting guys who talk for 2 hours every week about mostly comics but also other things, and they let you in to listen to their conversations. It's excellent.

If you only listen to one comics podcast
This one, right here, is the once, bucko. Whether your focus is on the business, the consumption, the art, or the writing, Jeff and Graeme get you to get more out of your sequential art reading experience. And you might learn a little something along the way, too.
On a personal note, I'm both in dread and excited each time I see a new episode downloading, because I know that there goes my productivity (since I have to listen, and then go read), but I'll dang well enjoy it.

Looking For a Great Comics Podcast? Wait, What? is Your Destination.
Wait, What? is one of the best comics podcasts currently produced. Graeme and Jeff provide insightful industry commentary and comics reviews that are both entertaining and informative. While the primary focus of the show is the mainstream U.S. comics market, those interested in manga, European comics, and indie books will find generous coverage of those as well.

Try this podcast out!
Though I'm not always in the know of all the content discussed, this podcast is always enjoyable. Any moderate comic book fan should give it a listen; it will give you a better outlook on what is on the shelves beyond DC and Marvel. You'll also enjoy the friendly debates that are both thought-stirring and fun. I am a better comic book reader because of this podcast.
I appreciate the honesty of this podcast.
Jeff and Graeme have opposite yet complimentary personalities....both likable dudes.

The Only Comics Podcast I'll Listen To
I've tried the rest, and finally found the best. Jeff and Graeme have the perfect mixture of insight and analysis. I really appreciate that (unlike a lot of other comic podcasts) Jeff and Graeme really give you there honest opinion on both comics and the industry.

These guys are good
I'm proud to say that I've been listening to these gentlemen from their inaugural podcast. As I listen to them now, all these years later, I suspect that this must have been how my mom and dad must have felt listening to FDR's comforting fireside chats all those years ago. Or maybe how they felt when they heard Orson Wells describe H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds" and believed the Earth was being attacked by Martians. Or maybe just as they listened to the subtle sounds of Frank Sinatra singing "Strangers in the Night". Or maybe not.
Whether you agree or disagree with them (because we are after all, a polarized nation), you will come to one conclusion: combined, these gents are the voice of reason and sanity. They will restore order and balance to the force.

Great Conversational Comics Podcast
If you are like me and you are just now in your thirties and you are the only one in your circle of friends that continues to buy comics, this podcast is for you. It feels like friends sitting down and just talking. You get your comics discussion, you get the wild tangents and most of all you get honest discussion.

Episode 58.1
Another enjoyable podcast. I'm hooked.
Re: Catwoman - your comparison to Bendis' Alias was spot-on & kind of funny (could you take any comic Bendis wrote in 2011 & say he got it right with touchy subject matter?) But I'd compare it more directly to Ed Brubaker's Catwoman run which portrays almost exactly the same thing, when Selina starts using Slam Bradley for sex, even down to climbing through his apartment window "with the costume on" but oh what a difference the context makes! It's like, 18 issues in, after the character has really tried to take control of her life and protect those around her & do some good within her own somewhat relaxed moral code, only to have her whole life torn apart. There's a reason for it within the story & a complexity to the characters.
Between this and your Paying For It discussion, probably the sexiest podcast since Hal Jordan, Insurance Adjustor! by Gil Kane.

The first Podcast on my list.
I subscribe to a lot of comic book podcasts, and "Wait, What?" is always the first one I listen to. It's nice to hear about comics from people who are reading them for personal enjoyment and not from a commercial "I MUST COLLECT IT ALL!!" standpoint. And Jeff Lester's ongoing search for the perfect savory waffle is one of the best subplots since Claremont's X-Men!

I love this podcast even though I'm not really a comics fan. These guys are just fun to listen to.

Best comics podcast around.
Jeff and Graeme are awesome. Many comics podcasts tend to have hosts that are annoying, boring, ill-informed or all of thee above. These guys are witty, really likeable, and possess the comics know-how to discuss the medium the way everybody else should. I've listened to every episode and always look forward to the next update. Highly recommended.

Most fun I have in my ear
This is the one podcast I anxiously await every week and is the first one I listen to when it pops up on my iPod. Ostensibly about comics, it invariably veers off in myriad directions (most often in the direction of the Waffle Window), and it is always entertaining. It is obvious that Jeff and Graeme really enjoy each other's company and it feels like the podcast is excuse for them to catch up each week and talk about whatever's on their mind. Each regularly gets the other laughing, and I find myself laughing along with them. So much fun!
But there's more than just one-liners and wise remarks going on with this podcast. Jeff and Graeme have read a lot of comics, and they understand the medium quite well - able to break down why a story works or doesn't work in a manner that makes sense. They aren't just looking at these comics as escapist entertainment but are concerned with the craft of the creators and don't mind calling out writers and artists for narrative and artistic missteps (always done without vitriol and through the desire for "better" comics). And if a book really works - like the recent relaunch of Daredevil from Mark Waid, et al. - they are the first to prop it up as something worth their listeners' time.
I've learned a lot from listening to them and have discovered many new books I need to seek out and read. They cover a full range of comics, from the current crop of periodicals to classics like Kirby's Losers and the work of Steve Englehart - *choke* - who is a particular favorite of both Jeff and Graeme. For me, it's the one comic podcast that is consistently entertaining and informative, a hard thing to achieve.
If you like comics (or waffles), and you enjoy listening to a couple of friends having fun discussing them, this is the podcast for you.

An unabashed love of fun and whacky comics
I rue the day they decide to go grim and gritty and pack on a lot of pouches.
A great insider podcast into comics that revels its joy if Kirby and Englehart, dismissive of the cult of dark for dark's sake, and the best wolverine impression ever.

Jeff and Graeme provide the most intelligent (in their own way) and entertaining comics commentary out there. I've been listening to their podcast and reading their blogs since they started doing it, and I'm sure I'll continue to the end.

It's just the best
Jeff and Graeme are the best. As a fellow comic book podcaster, I can safely say that you should listen to their show first, then listen to mine later. Or never listen to mine -- whatever you're into. But THIS is a podcast you should be spending time with. Even when I completely disagree with Jeff and Graeme, which is rare, they are still funny and engaging and smart and amazing.
Honestly, after a half dozen episodes, I tend to get sick of the banter between podcasters and their same old arguments and points of view. Not so with these guys. They keep things fresh and lively and, best of all, it just feels like natural conversation.

Distinct voices, well rounded thinking, a sense of fun...
With so much vitriol on the net regarding my favorite past time it's nice to find a couple of guys who genuinely enjoy talking comics.
It may sound simple but when so much of the public space for the medium is consumed by ill informed gripes and rants these two get it right by talking about the material with their hearts on their collective sleeve. You get hooked in to so many things listening to this podcast it's wise to have a notepad around and I can directly attribute a large number of purchases and page views to material I heard about on this podcast. Yes, yes, you can read about Bulletproof Coffin and King City but to hear these two - who clearly know what's what within the industry - discuss merits, misfits and their own interest is quite contagious.
Also, Graeme...I may not know whether to curse you or bless you for X-Men Forever and Menage a 3 but I am enjoying the "journey" so far. Seriously, if you're a little crabby about the state of the industry you need to listen to this podcast - enjoy what you learn and find - take a deep breath and realize COMICS are FUN even if it is occasionally of the head scratching, point and laugh variety.

The First Podcast I've ever listened to,
and still the best. Not to take anything away from the other tremendous comics and non-comic podcasts out there. Wait, what? has an incredible chemistry with the two hosts and their knowledge base is daunting and fun to listen to. Sometimes the podcast veers off into non-comic book territory (Graeme has a soft spot for Brit-pop) but any minute listening to this podcast is a great minute indeed.

What all comics podcasts should be.
Jeff and Graeme know their stuff. I've burned through 7 episodes this week, and can't say enough nice things about their work here. Wait What is insightful and fun, with both hosts showing a clear understanding of the comics medium, the fictional continuities, AND the various facets of the industry (the component most often completely misunderstood by most similarly themed programs). Great taste and sense of humor here, as well. This adds a welcome third comics podcast to my subscriptions, following House to Astonish and The Splash Page.

This is really fun to listen to! Just a couple of pals chatting about whatever comes to mind...oh and comics too! Even better if they continue to release on a weekly-ish schedule. Just wish that my commute was longer so it wouldn't take a couple of days to listen to a whole episode.
