In this episode we chat about endometriosis- wait, what is that? Listen in to hear about living with endometriosis; an invisible illness and how you can help- it’s probably not what you think. Globally, there is an estimated 1 in 10 women who live with endometriosis. This number is most likely much higher because the diagnosis is so difficult. It takes an average about 7 years to be diagnosed. For Rachelle, it was over 30. There is no cure. Of the 5 girls in our family, 3 are already diagnosed. The symptoms of Endometriosis include painful periods, painful ovulation, pain during or after sexual intercourse, heavy bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, fatigue, and infertility, and can impact on general physical, mental, and social well being.
