Valerie Kathawala is a writer focused on the wines of Germany, Austria, South Tyrol and Switzerland, with a particular interest in biodynamics. Valerie is a lifelong student of German culture and language and has lived and worked in both Germany and Austria. Her crossover from translation and editorial work at the United Nations to writing about wine was a natural, maybe inevitable, confluence of these experiences. She is a co-founder and co-editor of the wine magazine Trink.
In this episode we dive into the German-speaking wine regions that Valerie focuses on. We discuss the winemaking culture and an obvious appreciation of artisanal work and Craft Wine in these countries/regions. Tune in to find out more about Valerie's insights.
