Too political
I once considered myself a super fan yet the ridiculous efforts to belittle others who may think differently about the state of our country. These wanna be elitist need yo venture out of their bubble. Believe it or not New York is an extremely small part of this country and quite frankly not what it used to be. Small minded individuals speaking about people they don’t want to understand. Sad
Honest Dave!
Ridiculous Groupthink Nonsense Mindset
You geniuses don’t even realize your anti-Trump bias isn’t the majority thought in this country. How soon you forget that the majority of the country votes much more conservatively than your stuck up, “better-than-you” attitude. Get over yourselves and get back to your Alabama roots where you’re from, Adam. Sheesh. You’re an embarrassment with this liberal groupthink mindset! (And yes this is coming from someone in the wine industry with a PhD who doesn’t even like Trump!)

Fun and Informative
Great insider baseball for people outside of the wine and beverage industry. Fun banter between the hosts!

Listen to Every Episode
I really enjoy this podcast and really everything VinePair puts out. They’re very direct, honest, and cover a lot of great topics that I might not hear about otherwise. Even when an episode is something that doesn’t sound like a topic I’d enjoy, I still listen because each time I learn more. Their candor is fun to listen to and I love the different intros of what they’ve had to drink and what they’ve been reading on the site.

12 minutes to get to topic!
Dropped my rating from 2 stars to 1 since hosts can’t stop talking about themselves instead of getting to topic in title of episode.

Conservative Drink Wine too
Love the pod and have listened for years. But any chance we can cut the snide shots at conservatives. There's a world outside of NYC. Actually most of it is. And a LOT of us drink wine. I've been to Napa and Sonoma approaching 20 times. Love if you just stuck to the wine world. Thanks guys.

Candid and insightful
I really appreciate this format, the candor and insights, especially the episode on group think in wine lists - an issue that goes way beyond on premise selections.

Well rounded, relevant wine & Spirits podcast
I’ve worked in all aspects of the industry and I’m always trying to stay relevant with information and these three bring it. A must listen for anyone in hospitality.

Sets the Bar for Podcasts in Wine and Spirits
This is an exceptional podcast for anyone interested in wine and spirits. Whether you are industry (distiller & hospitality here) or layperson, it is thoughtful and insightful while being fun and entertaining. Great content and topics.

Rants about the industry
I get it, and I too love a hot take, but most episodes are just rants about something that annoys them about service. Their cocktail content is pretty good. Their wine content is subpar.

Opinion pieces
Anecdotal Adam and his wine takes are tired.

Good wine & spirits pod
This podcast has a lot of really good industry information and I think they have good, fresh perspectives. The only things I would change are that a) the intros on where they ate/drank recently can go on for a long time (I usually skip like 8 min forward), and b) they talk about x bar or y restaurant very mysteriously (probably to avoid slander suits) but I never know what they’re hinting at and it makes me feel like I’m not a cool kid :(

Podcast is an echo chamber
Sober curious is not a mid life crisis. It’s actually the complete opposite. All generations are taking inventory of the negative impacts alcohol has on their lives and adjusting. The big bev industry- Adam included - is stuck in their echo chamber and cannot seem to accept this.

Lacks Nuance
Was particularly disappointed by the Karen McNeill episode; to say that Napa or California has been “fortunate” to have the agricultural worker pool they’ve had for years without even mentioning it’s proximity to Mexico i.e. Latinoamérica (and it’s migrants) and how that region was built quite literally off the backs of these workers is willfully ignorant. Am I supposed so feel bad for the poor poor Napa wineries? Try again.

Brings me back down to earth as an industry professional
I wish I could rate this podcast higher. I don’t necessarily work in wine only, but as a bartender working at a hospitality company, I often get discouraged by the pretentious attitudes of my peers. I also love to reach the average person and inspire them to experience new flavors and expand their palate on their terms. When they mentioned the validity of Crown Blackberry, I was sold. I fully trust these hosts and will listen to them talk about anything

Least Pretentious Beverage Discussions
The cast is least pretentious, yet still super knowledgeable, group of people talking about wine. Many other pods about alcohol come off as snooty and egotistical, or simply boring. This podcast is informative about the industry and they really do show an understanding of the average consumer. Episodes are well constructed and the cast doesn’t take a long time to get to their points (plus no prolonged ‘thinking’ pauses).

Foul language is a turnoff
Information wise I give it 4 stars, maybe 5, topics could be better. Sometimes it just sounds like a lot of insider complaining about the industry. And the obscene language could be omitted, and their talking points would sound much more professional. I get it that they want to sound edgy but it is over the top. And it also narrows their audience, because not everyone is listening to it on headphones. One last thing. These guys have such elitist attitudes that I often have to turn it off just because of that.

You’re gonna want to have a drink with this crew
As a casual consumer of alcoholic beverages of many types i can say that this is one of the most informative and entertaining pods out there. Even on topics that don’t initially peak my interest i find that half way through I’m hooked. And they don’t talk down to their audience. They lift the listener to new levels of appreciation for wine and other spirits and the business surrounding the industry and culture.

Provocative, entertaining, and educational
The show is in heavy rotation for me. The conversation between Adam, Joanna, and Zach is always provocative, insightful, and deep. The hosts have great chemistry, the topics are all the way, interesting and relevant, and the length of each episode is perfect for my commute.I’ve learned so much over the last year from listening to this podcast. It’s a wonderful companion to an excellent publication.

Best pod for beverage alc perspective
Adam Teeter is that dude. Almost always hits the nail on the head and puts me on to amazing perspective. Must listen.

Lost me with latest episode
Happy they are addressing this issue, but kind of a wasted opportunity to have a substantive conversation about the topic vs. condemning one single person’s point of view. Very clearly have very strong feelings against this person, so why bother with such a negative podcast? Uplift the industry or dig in deeper and ask more questions rather than taking the time to waste our time with what you think we should feel. We are more intelligent than this and deserve a more meaningful format for this conversation, especially with wine sales falling substantially along with the demand for the sommelier. That being said, I’ll just stop listening.

Great industry pod
Very diverse range of subject matter that really delves into the nuance of a particular topic.

Incisive, Always Honest, Brutally So At Times
The trio of Adam, Joanna and Zach offer fun, witty, passionate and educated banter. Through their work at VinePair they are able to offer the educated viewpoints of industry insiders, but with the freedom to be honest (brutal at times) about the shenanigans of Beverage Alcohol and Hospitality in a way that only outsiders can authentically. Not beholden to any company or agenda, they offer fresh and bold takes in an upbeat, affable, bite-size package. These are many of the conversations we wish industry leaders would sometimes be bold enough to have with each other, even if corporate decorum might have something to say about it.

Brilliant
Not sure how I’ve slept on this podcast this long, but this is brilliant. As the manager of over 80 brands in a tenured fine wine and spirits distributor, the “does anyone know how to sell wine?” episode was like a much needed therapy session. I talk with my colleagues about this all the time and your insight couldn’t have been more accurate. Hitting subscribe now. Cheers.

Good content and presentation, but some self-righteousness
Reading other reviews, it looks like I’m not alone in my feedback and not much has changed over the last few years. The topics are very smart and interesting, the discussions are concise, and the hosts do a great job of not interrupting or talking over one another. Fantastic content that’s presented well. That said, the sanctimonious attitudes and opinions offered (one host in particular is worse than the others) get old fast. Granted, opinions and editorial content is to be expected on a podcast like this. But it gets pretty dang old hearing this expression over and over again from one of the hosts: “If you’re into _____ and that’s your thing, that’s great - good for you… But it’s f——ing stupid.” It’s definitely a show by millennials, for millennials. But as part of the target demo, I perhaps can’t properly complain about that aspect.

Obviously actual industry professionals
Feels familiar and is informative. Good for insights to how industry pros feel and helpful for ideas to implement in your own service.

Disappointing…
While informative at times, most episodes devolve into “Old Man Yells At Cloud: The Podcast”. Constantly complaining about EVERYTHING in wine and spirits, offering no advice or ideas on how to improve. Gatekeeping disguised as altruism, the worst kind of snobbery in this industry.

Best Industry Podcast
Tight, focused, and thoughtful discussions about the state of the industry and its future.

Love it— weekly listener!
Super informative, you guys definitely have a finger on the pulse of the industry! Great coverage of the Anchor Steam situation! My only minor complaint is that Joanna— with all due respect— always sounds like she’s half asleep. 😬

Interesting take on the future of inexpensive wines
I really enjoyed hearing what the possible fallout and factors are in the news about Ste Michelle cutting its grape buying this year. I recommend listening to this - it makes you think about cheap wine and how it is equivalent to cheap beer, in a way.

A must listen!
I listen to a lot of podcasts but very few are in the must-listen to every episode the day it releases category; the VinePair podcast is one of them. I enjoy the insights into parts of the drinks business I wouldn’t normally get exposure to as someone not in the industry. The vibe is fun, keep up the great work!

Big fan!
I love tuning in and hearing about what’s going on in the world of beverages and dining culture. The topics are thoroughly discussed with different perspectives. I learn lots and appreciate the insight. Cheers!

A new form of wine snobbery
Title says it all. Kick the episode off with some ageism then insert poor attempts at humor. How are you going to go from talking smack about how young people don’t have cellars or care about scores to talking about the the multiple times you are at Charter Oak in 5 minutes.
somm_degenerate
Informative and entertaining
I’m kind of surprised that I like this pod as much as I do. I admire the even-minded perspective that these folks bring to the market. Millennials and younger, don’t let their penchant for wine turn you off 🙃.

Great way to stay current on all things beverage alcohol.
This podcast does a great job of covering current topics across the beverage alcohol space. Beer, wine and spirits get pretty equal treatment, which is rare. The hosts are pretty opinionated, which I appreciate - even more as time goes on. The content has continued to evolve over the five years they’ve been doing it, which is impressive given how much the landscape has changed in that time. Definitely recommend it.

Wine and spirits industry must listen
This podcast is my favorite source for keeping up on trends in the industry. I love that the hosts don’t hold back and let their personality really come through. Not stuffy at all.

Napa trip
I find it amusing that two guys almost 40 talk about how Napa isn’t for young people. Dudes - your old! Also, if you want a good tasting experience in Napa you have to put some work in. There are still diamonds in the rough that are independent winemakers making great wines that aren’t the glorified bar experience.

Interesting but Conceited Hosts
Fantastic insights on the industry and drinks culture marred by conceited and unnecessary political references and juvenile rants.

The Wine Industry Loves This
As a winemaker, and brand owner, I thoroughly enjoy this podcast. Every Monday and Friday I’m tuning in to continually learn how to better project the message of my winery. In a world that is dominated by old heads, VinePair is bringing new life to all forms of alcohol and marketing. Bravo!

Best podcast about wine and spirits hands-down and few of the only voices to correctly articulate the ups and downs of hospitality since March 2020. Adam, Joanna and Zach are true comrades.

Fantastic!
Joanna, Adam and Zach have great chemistry on the air and as a result this POD is entertaining, informative and a great listen! I look forward to every episode. Do yourself a favor and follow this show and start downloading the episodes.

Disrespectful
You could have made your point about the wine community unwisely ignoring the younger crowd in marketing efforts, without rude and disrespectful references to older people when discussing a recent wine awards event. You could also leave the political references out. I guess “ageism” is not on your radar?! Your generalizations of “Boomers” are trite and patronizing. Grow up.

What a great podcast
As a huge millennial wine lover, I especially loved today’s podcast (01/30/23). But today, the opening with the banter about espresso just solidified why I love this podcast. Great chemistry between hosts and I like the deviations. I find this is the podcast I usually talk about the most. Thank you!

Good start - going downhill fast
Episodes in 2018 were very informative. 2019 is full of complaining. Listening now after a couple years and review is the same. Informative but put off by the amount of complaining.

Is it about wine or streaming TV?
Hmmmmmm. Episode 109: Spent 10 minutes talking about TV shows, and 13 minutes talking about magnums of wine. Not good.

The Best
Been listening since the beginning. Love their all inclusive approach. Never single out a particular style or category that is best. They give equal credence and objective viewpoints on trends from bud light to Romanee Conti and everything in between. As an industry vet with a partiality to certain categories and producers they have opened my mind with every show. They have curbed my tendency to snobbery!

I’m poking a bit of fun mmhmm at the hosts amateur podcast skills mmhmm (listen to yourselves mmhmm - and this includes interrupting your guests mmhmm), but they are definitely mmhmm experts when it comes mmhmm to their true trade mmhmm, which is the booze.
