Listening to a playlist I made a couple weeks back had me reflecting on how much influence our music and words have on the trajectory of our lives. Check out the playlist (…Love From The 90s-00’s) on my Apple Music platform @n_i_rvana

Are you aware of how the environment you grew up in has impacted the way you respond, react, and maneuver through life today? Our natural characteristics (love, curiosity, and confidence) are most times overshadowed by our nurtured character traits (hate, fear, disconnect) due to our environments and the mind state in which it places us in. Knowledge of self will always be the best gift to self, and sometimes detachment from the place and people that raised you is a must in order to get back to the natural characteristics you were born with. Being aware of all aspects of self and being able to balance dualities positions you in a place of power. Power over the direction of your future and who it is you would like to evolve into. This episode reflects my move back to Chicago and how being here for a year now has forced some of my nurtured characteristics back to surface. I discuss my ability to acknowledged the source of these traits, how they've impacted me, and how they impact me today. I remember to grant myself grace always for there are still spaces that I am learning to navigate.

Through out history there has always been an agenda in place to divide the world and keep us all disconnected. Division usually means no revolt so it works for those who pay for the political parties, media outlets, head the pharmaceutical companies, and medical industry. Today is no different, actually cancel culture almost makes division that much easier. ***Trigger Warning***

Today we celebrate the life of Nip The Great, a true man of the culture and everything it should represent. Nipsey was a man of vision, an example that no matter what you come from you can make something out of nothing as long as you stay down. He encouraged us all to believe in our purpose, plan to achieve the visions we see for ourselves, and execute until we see the desired outcome. Nipsey will always be our chosen one. Long Live Nipsey The Great. 💙

It seems the world only wants to give Chicago credit for being savage. While simultaneously eating up everything originating within the city outsiders fail to acknowledge the art, wisdom, creativity, leadership and life that derives from 'The City'.

Many only know Sister Souljah for her book The Coldest Winter Ever, and that alone does her contributions to fighting for the healing and evolution of our people no justice. She is an image of what womanhood should look like to say the least.
