V H US, Dirk Marshall
Each episode of 'V H US' features host Dirk Marshall having an in-depth talk with various guests about that week's cult film and what it is like to have the profession portrayed (sometimes very loosely) in the film. Dirk Marshall was raised in a mom and pop video store in a small town. Growing up amongst the illustrious backdrop of VHS Box art, he learned about the world from the works of William Friedkin, Frank Henenlotter, and Penelope Spheeris. Now on VH US he sits down with people who's profession is portrayed in a film to talk about what it is like to have that profession and about the film he has assigned them.
SCREEN TEENS with guest host Ryan Gowland & host guest Dirk Marshall
That's right! You asked for it so we flipped it! We called in Ryan Gowland ( The New World Pictures Podcast) to host the show (the only time this has ever happened) and your regular host (me) is in the hot seat. I think you will find that not only is Ryan a fantastic host but his incredible writing is also highlighted here. This format is very structured and writing heavy. As the host you have to lead people into the odd format and then showcase bonkers elements for each year. Ryan does so quite effortlessly and I think this episode is a great example of one of his many strengths. Sure he is a strong host on NWPP with assured research capabilities but he is also an accomplished performer who can take that information and communicate it in an informative AND entertaining way. He has written for the Physical Media Advocate and contributed to the Sorority House Massacre blu-ray to name a few of his efforts but I suspect we will see more from him by way of essays and more as more people realize his talents. Sure, here he is a friend stepping in to host and I am so thankful to have him lead this episode but I also couldn't help but be impressed. Ryan rules and this episode is about the movies I saw as a teen. Why are you still reading this? Just listen to it and go support New World Pictures Podcast! (Also Willem Dafoe's penis is smashed with a block of wood. Not nailed. That was a in the NIN Broken video where Flanagan put a nail through it in the Happiness In Slavery video. I got my genital mutilation mixed by doing this time travel episode. So no need to correct me. I know!)

The Revengening (aka Action Draft 2) with Seanbaby, Robert Brockway, & Zak Koonce
That's right! A sequel to our Action Auction Draft episode. You know we had to do it. The second we wrapped the first episode, we knew we needed to record a follow up. Does it go as planned? Absolutely not! It goes better than planned. We add a villain draft so we know what our action teams are up against. Do the action dollars matter? How about you stop asking questions! The only problem is that this may be the only podcast format any of us want to do anymore. So enjoy the death of everyone's creative endeavors as we just want to hangout and talk action movie nonsense!

Season 25: Episode 2- LOST (with Marilynn Morose & Josh Griffith )
It is time for another "Lights, Camera, Keyword!" Where the direction of the movie conversation is led by just one word. Where each guest takes the conversation is dependent on their own inspirations and experiences. The word for this episode is: LOST! Dirk is joined by longtime guest Josh Griffith and first time guest Marilyn Morose. Will they discuss times they felt lost in movies? Times movies felt lost? Something else entirely? You will just have to listen!

Season 25- Episode 1: STEPPENWOLF ( feat. Mike White )
We are back! Welcome to season 25 of V H US. We are kicking it off in style with Mike White (the host of The Projection Booth Podcast!) We discuss some of the beginnings of Mike's many projects before diving into Adilkhan Yerzhanov's STEPPENWOLF (2025.) A film that dares ask the question "What if there was no good to be found in the world?!?" That's right, things get bleak on this episode but you might not notice because it was just so much fun talking movies with Mike White. Enjoy!

Season 24 Finale: Musicians In Movies (feat. Heather Drain & Carmelita Valdez McKoy)
We end this season with an epic episode on musicians in movies. Our wonderful returning guests are Heather Drain and Carmelita Valdez McKoy. We all love music and movies so why not talk about some of our favorite times that feature both. Initially we each were going to bring 5 movie moments that featured musicians but there are TOO MANY! So instead, we each bring 10 and probably talk about 15 more. We cover a lot so hopefully this massive episode will tide you over while we are on break. See you soon for season 25!

DEVIL DOG: THE HOUND OF HELL ( feat. Rodney Anonymous )
This episode we kick off a new mini series that is all about the made for TV movies of the 1970's. It is the brainchild of the guest, Rodney Anonymous and what a deranged brainchild it is! We begin with Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell from 1978. Richard Crenna really has his hands full when his family....um....has "interactions" with a dog possessed by the devil. Yeah, let's word it that way! A truly unbelievable movie made for TV so the whole family can enjoy it! We also play a game that will probably make a lot of people sad. ENJOY!

Interview with Sam Rosenthal ( Black Tape For A Blue Girl & Projekt Records )
This episode is one of our special interviews where Dirk has a chance to speak with an artist whose work he has admired for quite some time. The guest is musician, composer, artist, record label maestro, and novelist Sam Rosenthal. The conversation ranges from Sam's early beginnings in music to running a record label and more! Lots more, we didn't even mention cats yet. Yes, there are cats! If you are a fan of Sam then I know you will enjoy this conversation and if you know nothing about this wonderful human then I also know you will find much to appreciate in this inspiring conversation. Did we mention cats?!?

DAGON ( Feat. Zak Koonce )
This episode we are joined yet again by the legendary Zak Koonce (Auralnauts & Zak's Planet of Garbage.) Which could only mean one thing! That is right, it is time to continue our exploration of H.P Lovecraft movies. If it is based on or inspired by H.P. then we will watch it and discuss it (for better or worse.) We also play what could only be described as the grossest game yet (although our first episode in this series was also an all timer!) Want to share your thoughts? Call or text 503-395-8858!
