Replay - BONUS - Breaking through limiting beliefs
In this episode, Nikki goes through an actionable exercise to help break through limiting beliefs. Letting go of old beliefs, setting new goals, and moving forward. Nikki originally participated in a similar exercise in a live presentation in a program by James Wedmore. If you can write out your answers by hand, this would be ideal. Handwriting can help to connect more with thoughts and deep emotions. If handwriting isn’t possible, and typing is, that is still a good way to document your answers. What is my limiting belief? How do I feel about this belief? What is causing me to choose to feel this way?Support the showThis podcast is for information purposes only. The Learning Code: Strategies for Mastering New Concepts
In this episode, Rachael and Nikki chat about the importance of thinking outside the box and looking at the big picture. This is important for everyday life situations and also for students studying a course. Being able to use critical thinking is an important tool to have. We discussed:The importance of thinking outside the boxWhen you’re learning about a new concentp, look at what you did understand, read it again, look up words you don’t understand to get a better understanding. If you still need clarification, consider if this is going to be talked about later in the course (check the next lesson title or course syllabus), is there a reputable place to search for more information?Once you’ve done critical thinking on the matter, then reach out for further clarification. The importance of health history forms for clients as they can give a glimpse into someone’s overall healthWhen looking at health conditions - by looking at what essential oils are important to avoid it can also help narrow down your selection of oils to use, all the while making sure you don’t pick an oil that in contraindication to persons health. If you don’t know enough about a health condition, look it up and see what body systems it affects, ask the client about it as they are most likely to know about it, and how it affects their health and wellness. When blending, look at the big picture - what will help someone the mostWhat application should be used? What oils to chose - taking into consideration age, application location, chronic vs acute, and moreWhat carrier oil can support the blendDon’t overwhelm a client. Often 1-2 blends is more than enough to startDon’t overwhelm the body with too much essential oil eitherRemember to take the person’s personal aroma preference in mind too when possibleAnd more!Support the showThis podcast is for information purposes only. Replay - The Essential Guide to Carrier Oils:Aromatherapy's Unsung Heroes
In this episode, Nikki interviews Susan about lipid oils, often referred to as carrier oils, and their many benefits. Susan trained as an herbalist and became very interested in infusing plants in oils, but because there wasn't much information on the oils, she began to focus on them with a little help from a friend who was a chemist and was able to clue her in on the fatty acids. This led to a self-published booklet, and after 20 years of running an herbal products business, her book Power of the Seed was published. Susan continues her oil research and has become obsessed with looking at the oils by the botanical family as there is so much to discover about them.In this episode, Nikki and Susan go overThe great benefits of blending lipid oils togetherImportance of using carrier oils/lipid oils with essential oilsGreat oils to use in the winter months to protect the skinOils for summer/warmer monthsGood oils for infusingOils to use for massageIf cooking oils from the kitchen can be used when blendingThere are over 100 carrier oils out there, find one that meets your needs! To purchase Susan’s book Power of Seeds you can find it hereConnect with SusanWebsite: https://lipidoils.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/susanmparker/Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lipidlove Support the showThis podcast is for information purposes only.
