I miss my hometown every single day, and this podcast gives me a taste of home. Even when Pete is talking about things way before my time, the episodes are still a comfort. I just love this so much!

Love the show. Love the host such a kind, funny man. He really brings back Chicagoland specific memories. Perfect for aging gen X ers.

I gave this podcast a five star review a year ago and now I wish I could give a sixth star. The show was great and continues to get better. The most recent episode about watching Cubs games reminded me of running home from school in April and May to catch as much of the game as I could. The Danley garage commercials, and the Victory Auto ad with the guy with the huge watchband whose door falls off are like an old blanket. Great show and the host really knows his city.

Grew up in Albany Park and really enjoyed the Svengoolie and Batman episodes. Keep up the good work. Any true Chicago needs to give Pete a listen.

I enjoy this podcast very much. I don’t mind the lack of polish. I find it charming. The presentation is like listening to a family member recalling the past. One of my favorite things is when Pete talks about a store, bank, etc where he applied to work, and then didn’t get the job. There seems to be a lot of those. Very amusing. It could be a drinking game! ;)

The information is interesting but ways to Mays unsure and ummmmm and ummms.

The host Pete tries his best, and is okay, but he could really benefit from doing research before recording. There has been many times I could have corrected incorrect information. Also, some times, his stories are very surface level, again, digging deep for a story or history about a topic would be great…. With all that said, Pete is trying pretty hard, and this Chicago area born and raised guy does appreciate his efforts.

The subject is very interesting but the podcaster needs to work on his presentations. He uses so many uh's. He uses so many and and uh's it is to distracting to listen. I hope he can polish his presentation better. I would really enjoy listening to the podcat more.

It was fun to hear about all the old grocery stores. Kroger brands are still sold today in the Pacific Southwest in Smith's stores. So far I have listened to two podcasts and look forward to other. Thank you! - Chicagogirl777
