Garret Tietjen from Viewmont High School & Maggie Mendelson from Fremont High School were honored as the recipients of the John Watson Chevrolet Northern Utah High School Basketball Players of the Week for Week 1 of the 2020-21 Utah high school basketball season.

Jake Hatch was joined by Sean Walker to preview Week 2 action in Utah high school football. THey broke down the top games and make their picks in the matchups, including Timpview-American Fork, East-Orem, Bingham-Skyridge & the "Battle of the Summits," among others. Bingham head coach Dave Peck then joined the program to talk about his team's first game being cancelled due to positive COVID-19 tests, what he expects in their now-season opener against Skyridge on Friday and what he thinks his team can do this fall overall.

Jake Hatch was joined by Sean Walker from KSL.com to talk about the opening weekend of Utah high school football action. They ran down the top game results of the opening frame of the season and examined some of the early storylines that were created among the 50 games played statewide. Sean and Jake then wrapped up the show by looking at their respective Top-20 rankings after Week 1 as Sean does his for KSL.com and Jake does his for The Zone Sports Network. They looked at the differences in their rankings and what led to their decisions.

Jake Hatch is back as the 2020 Utah high school football season is set to kick-off in what is sure to be an unprecedented season full of many unknowns. Jake revealed the Utah Preps Zone Top-20 preseason rankings throughout the show while checking in around the state with experts to get their thoughts on the teams in their respective areas. Hatch was first joined by longtime co-host and regular contributor Sean Walker from KSL.com. Sean and Jake talked about some of the overarching themes in the upcoming season while also making preseason title picks in the 5A and 6A ranks. Jake then began the 2020 preseason ranking countdown with the Top-5 teams in the state going into the season. (3:41) Patrick Carr from the Standard-Examiner in Ogden checked in with Jake next to talk about football in Weber, Davis & Box Elder counties. He thinks the region races in both Region 1 and Region 5 are more open due to a large number graduations in 2019. Hatch then talked about teams 6-10 in the preseason rankings. (26:31) Jake stayed with in Northern Utah as he went to Cache Valley next and talked about Region 11 with Ajay Salvesen from 106.9 The Fan. Ajay says Sky View is good enough to repeat as region champions, but he is not convinced the Bobcats are the favorite to repeat as 4A state champions. Hatch then broke down teams 11-15 in the preseason rankings (46:21) Finally, the podcast traveled south to St. George to check in on Region 9 with Devin Dixon from ESPN 97.7. Dixon says the hype around Snow Canyon is real, but that the always-competitive region will make the Warriors earn everything they accomplish.
