Greetings to the Living. Thank you for choosing to listen to Up Is Down and double-plus-good thank you to all who support this work. In this episode I take a slight turn from the track I was on previously and examine the relationship I, and we, have to the world around around us and identify the toxic back and forth games run on us at all times.
Chances are you've been in a toxic relationship with a narcissist, considering the world is quite full of them. It's quite possible that YOU are that narcissist or that toxically positive person or even just the punching bag target of abuse from that person. If that is the case, and given the extremes of those relationships, it's not easily to avoid falling into the classic bait-and-switch abusive techniques that are the baseline for even simple communications and everyday functions within the relationship. Our abusers know us very, very well.
Now, expand that co-dependent toxic relationship up and out of the household to understand the nature of the systems of society we create and interact with. By clocking and tracking the abuse patterns and techniques of toxic, narcissistic interpersonal relationships and then the suffering and cognitive dissonance we live with in our sick, medicated, depressed and terrified society makes perfect sense.
We are sick, tired, scared, overweight, medicated, and anxious because we are in a toxic relationship with this world. We are on the receiving end of psychological, physical and emotional abuse at the hands of systems designed for that exact purpose.
It's not a mistake.
Nothing has gotten "out of control".
