Unveiling Jesus Christ
Unveiling Jesus Christ
John Cassinat
This podcast is based on the research, writings, and content created by John E. Cassinat found principally in his two-volume book entitled The Book of Revelation Doctrinal Commentary: Unveiling Jesus Christ. The book focuses on the unveiling of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of John the Revelator. The podcast sets forth the views and opinions of theologians and Biblical scholars from many different religions, although the doctrinal views of the apocalypse predominantly align with those found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. John the Revelator’s symbolism and images are explained with reference to multiple Old Testament books, including Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Joel and Zechariah. Jesus Christ is the major focus of this podcast from the time of his premortal existence through the time of the celestialization of the earth. Within these broad parameters, podcast topics will include a discussion of the creation of spirit bodies in premortality; the premortal conflict between Lucifer (Satan) and Jehovah (Christ) during the grand council in heaven and the war in heaven; Christ’s physical creation of multiple worlds; the mortal ministry of Christ among the Jews and the establishment of his ancient church; the postmortal ministry of Christ’s spirit in paradise after His crucifixion; the post-resurrection ministry of Christ among the Jews on the eastern hemisphere, the Nephites on the western hemisphere and the lost ten tribes of Israel; the ongoing conflicts between Christ and Satan in the earthly kingdoms of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and the modern nations of the earth; the great apostasy that followed the apostolic period; the restoration of Christ’s latter-day church in preparation for His Second Coming and the resurrection of His saints; and Christ’s millennial reign of peace on the renewed and paradisiacal earth for 1000 years, followed by the final defeat of Satan’s kingdom at the end of the earth. These topics and many more will be discussed in this podcast as the many symbols and apocalyptic images of Saint John the Divine are explained to unveil Jesus Christ.
[§310] The Marriage Supper at New Jerusalem [Zion]
This podcast explains in detail the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) on earth at New Jerusalem (Zion) in Missouri after the marriage of the Lamb on heavenly Mount Zion at the Second Coming. This explanation includes a description of the three classes or categories of persons who attend the marriage supper including (1) exaltation-worthy saints represented by the bride of Christ, who are also members of the Church of the Firstborn, (2) groomsmen and bridesmaids who are worthy of celestial glory but not exaltation. They are members of the general assembly of the Church of the Firstborn. (3) Finally, there are other “guests" who are also celestial worthy. These classes of attendees are reflected in three separate parables of the Savior including the parable of the marriage supper in Matthew 22, the parable of the wedding guests in Luke 14, and the parable of the 10 virgins in Matthew 25. Among these three categories of people who attend the marriage supper, there are two types of people. They include those who are resurrected or translated, as well as those who are disembodied spirits of deceased persons and mortal people. All people who attend the marriage supper must be celestial worthy, which means they live celestial law. The translated people who attend the marriage supper include those people who are still living at the time of the Second Coming, and who are translated, transfigured, or quickened at the end of the second woe to be lifted up and stand in the flesh with Christ on heavenly Mount Zion as recorded in Revelation 14:1-5. The translated people also include the Lost Ten Tribes, who were translated about 570 AD. The resurrected people who attend the marriage supper include exaltation-worthy people who are dead at the time of the Second Coming, but rise from their graves at the end of the Second Woe when the morning of the first resurrection resumes. These persons stand in the flesh with Christ on heavenly Mount Zion and then descend with him as his bride to attend the marriage supper after the Second Woe and start of the Third Woe when Christ suddenly appears at his temple in Independence Missouri during his first appearance of the Second Coming.

[§308] Rev 19:7-8: Marriage of the Lamb and His Wife [the Church]
This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John in Revelation 19:7-9 to describe the marriage of the Lamb in heaven on Mount Zion, and the marriage supper of the Lamb on earth at the Second Coming. These verses say: “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”Honor is given to God the Father, when the marriage of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) is come during the Third Woe of the seventh seal at the Second Coming. The wife of Christ represents the exaltation-worthy saints from all ages, who have prepared themselves by obedience to all God's commandments. Their righteousness is symbolized by the clean, white, and fine linen cloth that they are worthy to wear as a wedding dress. They are granted this privilege because of their righteousness and the grace of God through the atonement of Jesus Christ.Revelation 19:19 expresses the fourth of seven beatitudes found in the book of Revelation. In this verse, all celestial-worthy people called to the marriage supper of the Lamb are blessed. The marriage supper will occur on earth at New Jerusalem (Zion) in Missouri at the time of Christ’s first appearance of the Second Coming when he comes suddenly to his temple in Independence, Missouri. Isaiah calls the marriage supper the feast of fat things and the Doctrine and Covenants refers to it as a supper of the house of the Lord, connecting the exalting ordinances of the temple with those who attend the marriage supper as a bride of Christ. During the marriage supper, Christ will partake of the sacrament with all the celestial-worthy attendees from all ages. The marriage supper is a feast distinguished from, and opposite of, "the supper of the great God” described by John in Revelation 19:17-18. During this second metaphorical meal, flesh-eating beasts feast upon the dead bodies of the wicked who die at the Second Coming.

[§306] Rev 19:4: The 24 Elders and Four Beasts Worship Jesus Christ
This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John in Revelation 19:4-6, which states: “And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” The four and twenty elders (24 Elders) represent exaltation-worthy saints that John first identified in Revelation chapter 4 as disembodied spirits in celestial paradise as of 96 AD, when John had his vision on Patmos island. This class of exaltation worthy saints continues to grow into a great multitude that John saw in his second vision of celestial paradise in Revelation 7. His second vision of paradise coincides in time with the end of the Second Woe. These 24 Elders ultimately become the 144,000 servants that stand in the flesh with the Lamb (Jesus Christ) as redeemed and resurrected Saints on heavenly Mount Zion in Revelation 14:1. In Revelation 19, the 24 Elders (representing exaltation worthy saints from all dispensations of time) praise both God the Father and Jesus Christ, as the Lord God Almighty. John also saw and heard the Four Beasts worship the Father and the Son. These Four Beasts represent the four classes of all creation, which John saw during his first vision of celestial paradise in Revelation chapter 4. The four beasts represent those classes whose measure of creation is celestial glory, including humans, animals, plants, and minerals. All classes of creation praise God the Father and Jesus Christ for their creative role and their redemptive role in the plan of salvation, respectively. The collective voices of the 24 Elders and the Four Beasts are so loud that they are described metaphorically as the sound of many waters and mighty thunderings.

[§305] Rev 19:1-3: A Great Voice of Much People Praise Jesus Christ
This podcast explains and interprets the imagery and symbolism used by John in Revelation 19:1-3, which states: “AND after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.” The much people in heaven are the redeemed Saints who rejoice because of the destruction and final desolation of Modern Babylon in Revelation 18. They proclaim alleluia (“praise ye Jehovah”) in a four-part doxology because Jehovah, who is also Jesus Christ, has been their salvation. They give glory, honor, and power to him as the Lord God Almighty. Christ’s judgments against the wicked people of Babylon are true and righteous because these are his godly attributes. His righteous judgments require the destruction of Babylon and the great whore because she corrupted the earth and killed the saints of God. The saints proclaim a second alleluia, in recognition of Babylon's double judgment, including the desolation of Babylon will continue like smoke that rises up forever and ever.

[§304] Rev 18:21-24: The Final Destruction of, and Conditions in, Babylon
This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John to describe the final physical fall and destruction of modern Babylon in Revelation 18:21-24, which states: “And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.” Jesus Christ is the mighty angel who throws down Babylon like a great millstone into a sea that represents the abyss and bottomless pit. Babylon will be cast down with great violence. When this occurs there are six different categories of things and events which will no longer be seen or heard forever in Babylon. The first category is the great city of Babylon itself with all its citizens. Second, there will be no music in four different categories including harpers, musicians, pipers, and trumpeters. Third there shall be no craftsman, which means that Babylon shall never be rebuilt and shall remain desolate forever. Fourth, there shall be no sound of a millstone, which means there shall be no livelihood or even life for there shall be no food produced by daily activity and there shall be great idleness. Fifth, there shall be no light either physically or spiritually. Sixth, there shall be no marriages, indicating that there shall never be a repopulation of Babylon after its destruction. These judgments come upon Babylon because the merchants use sorceries to deceive the nations. The blood of prophets, saints and all those slain upon the earth is a stain upon Babylon warranting her destruction, desolation and burning.

[§302] Rev 18:17-19: Four Groups of Mariners Shall Cry and Weep
This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John in Revelation 18:17-19 to describe how the mariners of modern Babylon will mourn and grieve when Babylon is destroyed, as follows: “For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.” The Mariners are described in four different categories of seamen who grieve because their livelihood and excessive profits will be lost from transporting the goods of Babylon when the "great city" is destroyed in a single hour. This podcast also describes the heavenly host in Revelation 18:20, who rejoices when Babylon falls physically. In fact, the voice of God the Father commands them to rejoice “over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.”

[§301] Rev 18:11-16: Merchants of the Earth Shall Weep and Mourn
This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John to describe the destruction and fall of modern Babylon at the second coming in Revelation 18:11-16, which states: “And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!” These verses describe seven different categories of merchandise that is bought and sold in Modern Babylon primarily as luxury items. Within each of the seven categories, there are four specific types of merchandise identified. The seventh category consists of slaves and the souls of men to depict both human trafficking in the last days, as well as people who voluntarily enslave themselves to Satan through their own carnal lusts and addictions to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, pornography, and other sexual addictions. The merchants and purveyors of these harmful and addictive products will grieve when their merchandise suddenly becomes worthless and is destroyed when Babylon falls physically. They will stand afar off, fearful of their own destruction as citizens of modern Babylon.

Rev 18 [§299] Rev 18:9-19: Babylon Begins to Burn and Three Groups Mourn
This podcast explains provides an explanatory overview of the symbols used by John to describe the physical fall of Modern Babylon in Rev 18:9-19 and the three groups of people who will mourn the sudden fall and burning of Babylon in one day and one hour. The three groups or classes of mourners include the kings of the earth, who represent the leaders empowered by the Great Whore of false religion in the modern nations, the merchants who benefit from the manufacture and sale of Babylon’s worldly goods, and the mariners or seamen who benefit from shipping of Babylon’s goods worldwide. This podcast also provides an in depth explanation of Revelation 18:9-10, which states: “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.”

[§297] Rev 18:6-7: Modern Babylon Rewarded Double for Her Works
This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John in revelation 18:6-8, which describe the Lord’s judgment on Modern Babylon at the time of the Second Coming. These verses say: “Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.” The double judgment is an idiom that expresses a complete judgment that is equal to a punishment that fits the crime. This judgment comes because Modern Babylon arrogantly and pridefully glorifies herself in luxurious living conditions. She claims to sit as a queen that is above and beyond judgment or punishment. She also claims that because she is no widow, she shall see no sorrow. Her logic is completely circular. She is the great whore who has no husband and whose sorrow is therefore eternal. The plagues of Babylon will come in one day as a literal judgment, similar to the fall of ancient Babylon to the Persian armies of Cyrus in a single day. This one-day judgment shall bring about four conditions that include death and morning, as well as a famine that is both physical and spiritual. The fourth condition is fire that will burn Modern Babylon completely. God will bring about these four conditions, for the power of God is far superior to the power of Babylon.

[§296] Rev 18:4-5: The Saints Are Commanded to Flee Modern Babylon
This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John in revelation 18:4-5, which states: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”The other voice in heaven is God the Father. No later than the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman, he warns his covenant people who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to come out of Modern Babylon and come to Zion in Missouri. Those who fail to heed this warning will partake of the sins of Modern Babylon and will therefore receive her plagues during the seventh vial plague of the Third Woe at the second coming. God will remember the sins of Modern Babylon and will be justified in destroying Babylon and her citizens because her sins will be like the wickedness of people in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, the days of Noah, and the days of the apostate Nephites on the American continent. The destruction of Babylon is two-fold: The spiritual fall of Babylon will occur at the time of the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman. The physical fall of Babylon will occur during the seventh vial plague of the Third Woe at Christ’s Second Coming.
