"Rewrite the game of self care". If you can enjoy a moment to yourself for an hour or three, why is it you still feel like you have to explain yourself, explain your decisions, or second guess your choices?
Why are you still saying "yes" to others when you don't want to?
Because you're nice and doing them a favor (on your precious time)?
Well, then, if that's the case (or perhaps you just feel obligated so you don't feel rejected) why do you feel the pressure, the anxiousness, and frustration with those you agreed to help?!?
But hey... your nails look good and the masseuse worked out some of that tension.... right?! "Selfcare" huh? 🥺

As a new mom, I endured a lot of judgment, criticism, and self-doubt from my family. When that finally caught up to me in the form of anger issues and self-depravity; it was hard for me to truly express my feelings and struggles. So I spent way too much money on things to fill in the emotional gaps of hopelessness and took out my anger on my kids. 😭
But one …day… my stubbornness kicked in (in a great way this time), and I said....NO to 'them', and YES to me.
I did some true self care practices which helped tremendously--no one can bring these memories back now or manipulate me (or you) into feeling guilty if they tried because, at least inside myself, I’m content and at 100% peace about mistakes made long ago by a hurting wife and mother.
- No pedicure or 10-minute meditation is required. 😌
