The hosts are insufferable
The voices of these two hosts are completely effected, making their cheery tone about murders and cold cases sound like your hearing two stewardesses brainlessly telling people to “have a nice day.” Hire professionals! You’re HLN, act like it.

Don’t waste time.
Especially the Jennifer Armour and Donna Richmond case.. just awful

It’s from CNN…sooo facts maybe fake or altered
Is Donnie not wealthy enough that he needs to drop his resume 😂 other than that it’s an old story told MANY times over. The biggest issue is it’s produced/originated by CNN and they have proved to be fungible with facts. So entertainment value only. Or another paycheck for Donnie.

Intriguing case, great interviews.
I’ve been intrigued by this case for a long time and have really appreciated the detailed interviews and reporting in each episode. I think Joke and Biaggio clearly have a great rapport. For the reviewers who commented on Joke’s accent, please, I would challenge them to speak even a *sentence* in Joke’s native language, Flemish. I would wager that most of the commenters don’t speak a second language at all. Her command of English is pretty darn impressive.

One of my favorite podcasts!
Love the hosts, their questions were thoughtful and their responses to the fact finding was enthusiastic. Love the mix of conversation and the presentation of the entire series of events. Cannot wait to listen to their next effort. Great job.

Great content!
You can tell the hosts put a ton of time in finding interesting content. Great job in landing great interviews. I definitely recommend!

Joke is awesome!
I was new to this pod until this weekend and the first review I read was complaining about Joke’s manner of speech. I have now listened to many hours of the pod and I am very impressed with her intelligence, knowledge of the subjects in detail, and ability to ask the very questions I am thinking about. She is great, and could carry the show on her own. I am so tired of the emphasis on perfection in mass media - beauty, youth, perfect speech, wealth - it does not reflect the real world. Joke is a real person and she nails it.

Good, but technical difficulties
I like the podcast, but half the episodes won’t play.

Engaging, thorough, BINGEABLE
I’d say start with the eps beginning with when he gets caught. Great job all around.

Good, yet distracting
Content good overall, but Joke’s accent and/or inability to pronounce “th” is very distracting and annoying. Hate to make that critique, but when your job is a podcaster, it’s an important skill.

Thorough
This podcast is very thorough. I like the content a lot, but Joke’s accent/speech impediment makes it a bit of a difficult listen. She is very intelligent and asks the important questions which is what keeps me listening! At first I had a hard time listening, but content overrides the accent! Keep it up guys!

Need to Investigate the Destruction of Evidence conspiracy in the Oscar Clifton case
I like this podcast, but the Unmasking a Killer team needs to do the deep dive necessary to investigate the "conspiracy theory" name calling they let the Exeter newspaper people get away against the 12-26-75 podcast. Whether you buy 12-26-75's proposal that the Donna Richmond murder was a frame job against Clifton by Deangelo, you'd have to be rube to not want to ask this question: why would the Tulare County County Sheriffs commit a crime by conspiring to destroy Clifton case evidence - while the case was still in appeal? Is this just a "conspiracy theory", or is it conspiracy fact? For the time being, I have faith the Unmasking the Killer team will eventually take the time to research this evidence destruction and give us an honest accounting of it. Good luck!

Interesting content but bad hosts/producers
Both hosts could learn a little professionalism. The female constantly says “Da” instead of “the”. And continues to use “D” instead of “Th”. It makes me want to stop listening. The male host asked if the killer brought his own plates!! Is that a serious question?

I like it
I anticipate the release of each new podcast. I’ve listened to all podcasts about GSK and this one is great too because it’s being released after he was arrested. The interviews are interesting and in depth. Especially the one with the neighbor who grew up next to GSK. If they repeat things other podcasts have gone over I don’t care, because anything about this case is interesting to me repeated or not. I’ll be following this up to the trial and after. Hopefully the trial is broadcasted to the public. Thank you for a great podcast.

Amateur hour.
Subject matter interesting The hosts have to hone their interview skills and manners. It’s a compelling story but real people were killed and raped. The hosts and some of interviewees don’t seem very respectful. Too bad this want handled by better journalists.

LOve it, but ..
I think the podcast is highly gripping and I’m loving it as we are starved for any information on the EAR .. Only suggestion is, every host keeps saying “you know” when they’re thinking about what to say - open pauses are not something to worry about ..

Good Content With A Tone Problem
The subject matter for this podcast is compelling. It is about a serial killer found decades later by the dogged efforts of a few law enforcement professionals and sleuths. The content is deep, on point, and informative. It appears the producers decided to do this as a “do it yourself” project. This is unfortunate and is an irritant to the enjoyment of the content. For such a serious subject, the producer/hosts sound almost jovial and excited in their delivery. The tone does not match the subject matter. It gives a juvenile feel to one of the significant case in the history of law enforcement.

Overkill
Your ads are really irritating and you don’t need to state your names every time. Focus on the content, which by the way has been covered much more effectively by other podcasts.

Awful!!!
When the male host, essentially, asked if GSK brought his own plates........... let that sink in.................. I stopped listening right there and deleted it all. CNN and HLN are awful so I should have known better. Criminology and Casefile are far better. Brought. His. Own. Plates. Jesus help us all.

Good job
Only noobs call him gsk. It earons. Your podcast is too conservative, take some risks. I feel like you’re trying to appease LE.

I love your coverage of this case. Keep up the good work.

Background Music
Please, turn down the ridiculous background music. You can barely hear what the speaker is saying.

Subpar Journalism
This story has been covered in a more compelling manner. Bad questions, irrelevant details are drawn out, making more out of mundane details. Don’t waste your time. Start with Michelle McNamaras book, then move to casefile or my favorite murder.

It’s ok, awkward hosting and awkward music
This developing case has been spoken about and speculated about by many podcasts and this one doesn’t really illuminate much. I’ll say this: the hosts and their overall tone about a serial killer is off putting and a little too jovial considering the subject matter. Also, who ever does the music and sound design has done a very poor job of music style and timing placement within the episodes. Like, early 2000’s sushi bar style ultra jams over the subject matter of hating the neighbor’s dog and threatening its life. Makes NO SENSE for that style of music to just pop up (and too loudly) at that point in the episode. Anyway...it’s fine to have in the background if you’re doing house chores.

Glad there's more!
I think the hosts have really followed the case, and it's intersting to hear the follow up that I've missed in the news.

Great Interviews/Music 🤔
I enjoy this podcast and look forward to more episodes but I have to say the music during the interview of the neighbor was jarring. It was way too loud and seemed really out of place. It was hard to focus on the interview.

Thumbs Up
I started this after the GSK was caught so it’s been satisfying knowing it’s not cold while listening. The hosts are thorough, and I love hearing Paul Holes offering his insight and expertise!

Way behind
It’s 2019 you cant come this late with this information and package it as New. Criminology interviewed every one of these guests and already and more completely covered all this info.

Fascinating podcast about a monster
I remember as a kid watching the news with my parents and hearing all about the Golden State Killer. This was a great reminder and a remarkable outcome!

WHAT HAPPENED???
Hello???? What happened??? A ton of wonderful research and episodes and then once the alleged killer was found you only had ONE episode. What’s going on? I miss your podcast.

Outstanding
This podcast is one of the best! I have learned so much from listening and can’t get enough. So well done and so informative. You’d be a fool to pass up this podcast! You won’t be disappointed. I promise!

Great podcast
So I just happened to stumble across this podcast while searching for a new one. It caught my eye and my ears and I found it to be compelling. Especially since he hadn’t been caught in 30+ years. Little did I know that I personally had a connection to this case. My wife’s aunt might have been murdered by the suspect. She was Phyllis O’Brien Carson and San Joaquin reopened the cold case in connection with the GSK case.

Great podcast but 1 problem
This is an excellent podcast really but this and a few other podcasts that must play music the entire time the people are speaking are starting to rub me the wrong way. There’s no need for dramatic music to be played behind a person giving factual information. It’s distracting from what the person is saying and I can only listen to little bit set a time when it has that loud music in the background. Where as if I listen to a podcast without that kind of music I can listen to the whole series without a problem . The music is so loud it almost drowns out the person speaking and if I had a way to shut that background music off completely I would.

Just like the TV show- this podcast is a total waste of time and serves as propaganda for the crummy show. I was told that the show would reveal the EARONS face using DNA but all it did was rehash old news that you can find on podcasts on the subject. Nothing new here.

Excellent as Stand-Alone or Companion
Detailed and engaging, this podcast works as a companion to the HLN documentary, or a stand-alone piece.

Golden State Killer
I’m following this series, I find it quite intriguing, but also very confusing. I’m not sure why anyone would think he’s still alive? If he were, wouldn’t he still be committing these despicable crimes? especially since they’re sexually driven?
ROCJG
Thank you.
I’ve long been a true crime buff, having studied forensic science as a potential career path. Over the course of the last year I’ve become absolutely ensconced in following the GSK case, and think the work and presentation between both the HLN series and this accompanying podcast is absolutely stunning and professional.

Great indepth podcast!
Hopefully we'll find out who the East Area rapist was!

I hope he’s scared
I got interested in this case and have now read all the books about it, including Michelle McNamara’s recent posthumous one. I first got interested as a result of her article about it for LA Magazine in which she coined the name “Golden State Killer.” There have also been several TV shows recently, but this one is the most thorough, and the podcast only adds to that. And even so, I find myself from time to time saying, “But why don’t you talk about.. . .?” The Visalia Ransacker, for instance, or the community meeting which GSK’s subsequent actions indicate he attended. As you can see, I’m obsessed, too. I hope he’s alive—we know he was alive as late as 2001–and I hope all this attention, as well as advancing technology, have him really, really scared.

It’s alright
Good content but ridiculously overproduced.

More of a companion to the show
This seems more like a companion to the show on HLN rather than a standalone podcast and since I am not watching the show I feel like I’m missing out a little bit. I rate this at three but I am unsubscribing. It’s just not that exciting.
