I invite guests to share personal stories about acts of leadership that help shape their lives. In Episode 31, Alex Slawson describes a coaching technique that has enabled his team to grow and bond. He has coached others at work. Also, Alex explains how his coaching has helped someone outside of work. He then invites us to be present in our conversations.Alex works as an internal performance consultant to develop the talent within his organization. Not only is he innovative, but Alex is also one of the calmest people I’ve met. For a while, we worked in the same department at Lowe’s Home Improvement, where I learned that Alex went to New College of Florida in Sarasota, where I lived for a few years.Alex describes a style of coaching taught to him by a manager. Now, his team uses coaching to strengthen their abilities to interact, collaborate, and support one another.Leveraging his coaching skills has helped Alex within his organization’s team and in his personal life. Alex illustrates this with two stories.Alex asks us to be present in the moment, focus on what others say, and be curious._________________________________How You Can Support the ShowUnlabeled Leadership is a free service for people to learn about leadership.
