The AVL Digital Nomads began in June of 2021 as a Meetup group. Membership of the group has grown to over 2500! With this explosive growth, the founders have formed United Digital Nomads to take the model to markets beyond Asheville, NC.

Meet Holly McCann (AVLDN)

The advantages to working remotely are many. What's lost is human connection. Founder Ric Pratte saw this as a solvable challenge in Asheville, NC. In 2021, AVL Digital Nomads formed as a Meetup group to bring these remote workers together. The membership for the Meetup group has grown to 2500+ since its inception in June of '21. With hundreds of events and success stories, combined with the trend toward an exponentially growing number of jobs going remote, Ric and team decided to take this social community framework beyond Asheville.

Thus, United Digital Nomads was born.
