Social media has become the outlet where we go to for information, ideas, affirmation, networking, employment and etc. Depending on the type of person you are social media can either impact your life in a negative or positive way. I really wanted to dedicate an episode on what we see on instagram isn't always what is occurring in real life because I know how much this has impacted people around me. This episode is going to focus on the areas that people frequently post about and that has major affected on people. FYI, I am happy that certain post are being called out for their false reality. Let's make sure we post realistic images because at the end of the day isn't that the point of sharing....you don't want people to feel like your living in LA LA Land.

Turning 35 this week made me realize how much I have learned about myself in my 30s, and the life lessons that went along with it. This episode is basically going to dive in on things I learned about myself in my 30s vs. my 20s and the lessons I also learned, which I hope people can relate too. I invited my childhood friend, who has known me since I was 15 to share his perspective about his experience in his 30s because I think it's helpful to have both a female and male perspective since we view life a bit differently. Fun fact, he is actually my very first male guest as well :)

There have been some fashion trends that I am totally vibing with and there are some that I find questionable. I will never understand why some people jump on trends just because its popular and all over social media. Trends aren't meant to take over your wardrobe, but more like something to consider when styling your look. This episode is breaking down likes/dislikes of current trends for men and women, and adding my opinion like I always do. I have also invited my girl, Sheila, who is a not only a fashion blogger but has also worked in the fashion industry for many years to join me on sharing her thoughts on current trends.

Back then they would say guys and girls couldn't be friends without some sort of romance developing, and it was probably true because women stays at home and men were in the work force. If there was any sort of communication it was assumed that it was a romantic. Clearly that's not the case in the 21st century because people have learned to become friends with the opposite sex without the sexual tension.
I have always been that girl that connected with guys easier than girls because I never really got involved in drama, and all the nonchalant assumptions that comes with being part of a girl gang. Even though in high school, I really wanted to be a cheerleader so I can be part of the popular girl gang, I slowly started to realize I was never the type of girl that belong to a specific group and I decided to be friends with girls/guys who I vibe with. What I think is fascinating is the way people react when they find out that you either don't have any friends or you don't have enough friends of the same sex. I don't think people should be judged or criticized based on the number of girlfriends or guy friends they have. I totally get the saying "the company you keep reflects your personality", and there is some truth to it, but I don't think it defines the person completely. I know my group of friends come from all walks of life, but I still do my best to stay true to myself. The older you get the more you become comfortable in your own body and that's when you realize that its not about the quantity, but the quality of friends regardless if its girls or guys. This episode is going to discuss the varies differences between girls vs. guy friendships, but in a girls perspective.

I honestly can't believe I live in Los Angeles let alone for the past 16 years. Growing up in Maryland, I never thought I would ever leave then after vacationing in Los Angeles for a week I decided to uproot my life and move at the age of 19. I didn't know anyone nor did I do any research about Los Angeles. It was one of the most craziest things I have ever done and I was super proud of myself. I have learned so much about myself living in the west coast, even though deep down I still feel and act like an east coast gal. Once you listen to this episode, you will learn a lot about my views and opinions living in Los Angeles.
You can take the girl out of the east but you can't take the east out of the girl :)

I thought it would be a fun idea to talk about dating during covid because that is the last thing people wanted to do last year, but despite all the health concerns dating apps increased by 18.4% from 2019. Also, according to apptopia, in 2020 the top 20 dating apps gained 1.5 million daily active users. Based on these statistics, dating apps was definitely an activity people turned too to deal with covid or have some sort of companionship. Also, I think people who never considered joining dating apps reconsidered since it was probably one of the safest activities to do to connect with people. Covid made people face things in their lives that they were avoiding, and I can totally relate. Sometimes life puts us in certain situations for a reason and I hope the key areas we discussing during this episode are helpful especially if your currently in the dating market.

I am hoping that as this year progresses we won't be celebrating every holiday "Quarantine Style" because that would be so disappointing especially with all the medical progress currently happening. In the meantime, the only way we can celebrate special holidays, such as Valentine's Day is "Quarantine Style", so I thought it would be a great idea to share some fun and creative ways to still embrace the lovely holiday with your special someone. Please remember, regardless of what you decide to do, it's not what you're doing that counts, but who you're celebrating with. Embrace Saint Valentine's the way you feel is right :)
Happy St. Valentine's Day!
