Chris does an incredible job with giving us an unbiased view of current events taking place across the nation. If you listened to an episode and you felt like he railed on one political party for too long just listen to another episode, you’ll eventually see he goes after everyone in time. The people’s history is lucky to have Chris. P.S. There are TOO MANY fragile humans leaving reviews, I’m guessing you clowns also dye your hair with air.

Sadly I can no longer listen to the podcast as a way to get a view on a more conservative or “independent” line of thinking. The host has fallen into a mindset that all media and government organizations are out to get conservative, independents or Trump supporters. The sources they use for many of their talking points are also blogs with no substance and unfortunately it’s gotten to the point where I’m not learning anything about the other side, only the complaints of the host.

Chris pretends to be a “centrist” but is very conservative, but not just your run of the mill conservative. Chris is full blown tin foil hat wearing, panic spreading, trumpism conservative. It’s really too much when he keeps lying saying he’s a centrist. Chris further spirals into conspiracy theories and faceless based rhetoric against the left while the right can do no wrong. Where the centrism in that??!

This podcast was gone for a while. I am so glad it’s back. I missed it. I don’t know if it’s because I am also in the Pacific Northwest, but Chris’s style and attitude resonates with me. Thank you for keeping me informed, because I can’t listen to mainstream media anymore. If you are tired of the bias in mainstream media, this podcast will probably get you to pay attention again. Thank you, Chris!

This is just an hour of unchallenged opinion. No one to counter anything he says

I’ve been listening for about 6-7 months. The podcast started as an interesting, unbiased collection of news stories with an added a hint of Chris’s personal flair. Lately the show has devolved into Chris (the host) assaulting the media for making hyperbolic claims and then immediately making his own hyperbolic claims as if this podcast is suddenly a soapbox for him to shout from. The host needs to decide if this show is going to deliver information or deliver opinion. For someone who loves to bring up how open minded he is on a regular basis, it’s impressive how narrowly and selfishly focused he becomes. Unfortunately there is no co host to prevent his indignation from getting in the way of presenting an informative piece of content.

This podcast is what the USA needs right now. Doesn’t matter what end of the spectrum you are on it is honest. Mahalo!

This show more than being about politics is really more about exposing the corrupt corporate media. I believe Chris takes a down the middle approach to investigating recent news events. Listeners that disagree probably need to take a look at their own political biases.

From a fairly left leaning liberal, you have an incredible podcast. I appreciate your diligence in research and really laying down the multiple layers involved in the various topics you present. Do I completely agree 100% with you? No, but I welcome perspectives other than the one I solely agree with, and because of this I have definitely learned a bit and expanded my views..this should be the goal for everyone. I have listened to Mr. Fisher for the better part of over a decade since I dived into Linux, Open Source, and Freedom in Technology. While I am aware of the irony of stating these things from an Apple platform; much like the average citizen you can’t box me into one camp technically or politically. I pride myself on being comfortable with it all; an Everyman. So, when I decided to take the plunge on listening to Chris politically....I figured I’d get the same Liberal-esque coverage I’ve come to know from NPR, CNN, MSNBC, etc.....wow was I pleasantly (yet also uncomfortably) wrong. I say uncomfortably because I am not prepared to make cynical the entirety of politics with details that makes me view the Left as flawed as the Right. But, overall, if anyone was going to pop my bubble....I am glad it was someone from my native Washington with a matter-of-fact way of speaking; just as I have come to know him in Linux. I gave this 4 stars not because I feel it’s 4-Star content but because I feel this show would greatly benefit from a co-host of the female persuasion. I feel the only thing missing for me was the fact that being male (like myself) honestly can lend to limitations in perspective that could make a good show great. Not someone more feminist but someone with similar centrist views who can bring the female perspective. Just my thoughts. Chris, keep up the great work you do ala Jupiter. Keep shepherding the new Linux newbs & elite long-beards alike.....and keep that centrist world view coming.

Just kidding. You can’t be a mindless drone and listen to this podcast, I assure you of that. I came to this podcast on account of the work the host does in the Linux world. I find it amazing that Chris is so ready to stake his credibility on this podcast, seeing as the tech world is so clearly biased and willing to disassociate with someone who is counter-culture. Chris is well-researched with an AMAZING amount of sourcing. He hits both left and right, which I have to imagine takes many hours. I am not sure where you is getting clips from, but I would enjoy hearing more about that. My biggest complaint is that he (the editor?) has the tendency to edit source material clips in such a way that the listener hears a lot of the same dialog twice. Wonderful podcast, wonderful host. I am kind of a stickler on where I get my news from, and who gives it to me - Chris is a great host. Chris, maybe try to mix in some random, awesome positive news? Thanks for the content!

Chris puts in a lot of hard work to intake news from various sources, filter it down to what is important, and shares the truth that is sometimes hard to discern from biased news stories. It is a fairly unbiased show, and when there is an opinion it is called out rather than hidden.

The host really does his research and has helped me to see different biases in the news. This podcast also helps me keep up with details of important stories may not be mentioned by more mainstream media sources.

Great alternative to normal “Sunday Morning Shows.” There is light commentary about the week’s news.

Alright I’ll admit this guy is jaded, but he’s not for anyone. Very against political corruptness as a whole, exposes the media’s blatant bias, and let’s you think for yourself by presenting real, uncut audio.

I look forward to this podcast every week, and am a proud supporter on Patreon. I am happy to pay to support a news source that calls out both sides of the news aisle, and I don’t mind when I disagree with something because I know it’s only being disseminated as it was originally broadcast. The show was put on hiatus for a few years, and I honestly felt like there was a void in my life. I was happy to see it drop in my feed unexpectedly, as if I heard a close friend was coming back to town. Please give this podcast a chance, and consider joining the Discord to hear live drops, and actually be a part of the discussion. It’s a community that serves the history of the people!

I really like a few of Mr. Fisher’s Linux related shows. On those he brings constructive attitude and works to build the Linux community. And I’ve seen his insight mature over the 10 years I’ve listened. Unfortunately on this show his negative tone and unstudied views just muddy the issues rather than provide a clearer view. I think I get where’s he’s coming from. I don’t care for bias reporting or partisan talk shows, and I would appreciate insightful critique of the spin. But throwing a tantrum that there is spin just doesn’t do it for me.

I’ve supported Unfilter for close to three years now. Even if you don’t agree with Chris, you have to admire what he is attempting to do. We need more people willing to attempt to pull the veil back and look at the divisive and insidious MO of corporate media and how it influences our public discourse. I would like to see a cohost in some respect to offset Chris’s approach and perspective, which is critical for this kind of exercise to prove fruitful. Right now though, this will do and Unfilter gets my 5 Stars and Patreon monetary support.

Chris Fisher clearly demonstrates an ability to deconstruct narratives in a thoughtful way. The problem though is that in watching all that news that '[we] really shouldn't be' and being a 'media watchdog', the show seems to filter what it considers 'media' to be just that of CNN, MSNBC/NBC/CNBC, NPR and others that one may consider to be establishment-left media in the US. However, readership/viewership of these media outlets isn't even a plurality in the US, and the show completely ignores almost all narratives in the US coming from far left (Democracy Now), far right (Breitbart), and even just right based media (Fox News, OAN). Chris and Unfilter has great potential, but it its current state it's developed too narrow of a focus, and to be frank, Chris needs one or two co-hosts to challenge him on some of his opinions and broaden the research.

Been a fan of the show since the beginning but it has gone rather downhill since the reboot. It used to be that even if you didn’t agree with what they were saying it was presented in a rational manner. The new format with one host is described as “beyond politics” and “beyond tribalism” but it goes down these weird rabbit holes and is actually hyper focused on petty politics and the tribes we form. Since Chase was removed (or rather uninvited?) from the show it desperately needs a new cohost. One person talking into a mic and building their bubble every week is how you get radicalism, not a dispassionate take on the news. Really appreciate Chris’s other shows but this one is falling down hard.

More of the same arrogant hate thinly veiled as a centrist news program. Didn’t see any facts wrong though. Of course I wasn’t there more than 20 minutes. The cutting down of Bill Gates for investing in education was just too pathetic. It makes me actually want to like him now.

Definitely worth the subscription. Between Unfilter and the No Agenda Show you WILL learn and understand what is really happening in these crazy times.

I followed Unfilter for years and was saddened when the guys decided to end it. So imagine my chagrin when I was working from home, listening to Linux Unplugged and Chris casually mentioned that there were 3 or 4 new episodes of Unfilter out... I don’t think I’ve re-subbed to a podcast that quickly in my life. I hope it keeps going beyond the current crisis!

Great to see the show is back!

I’ve listened to Unfilter for 3 years. I started listening to grasp all the loud media voices that bombard our society. Unfilter decided to cancel their show, and while I do understand I must say I am horrified at the replacement. This show has converted to the Schmidt Show. It’s one guy who likes to talk and admittedly hates “social justice warriors” and believes in a ruling class. Didn’t come here for your narrow mentalities that you call “ideological thought”. Was originally here for an unbiased distillation of media news. I used to recommend this podcast to my open-minded friends. Now I’m unsubscribing. I wish Unfilter hadn’t bait and switched their audience to something so unrelated to what they did.

I was hoping an unfiltered weekly news podcast. The hosts filter news through their own cynical lenses and questionable opinions. The show is pretty boring. It may be better and more efficient if they would cut out the snarky remarks and stick to facts. Bummer. I was hoping for better.

I think Chase and Chris offer a refreshing look into our news in America and uncover what is an ugly reality. Nonetheless, Chase and Chris aren't ugly! Their show is well produced and offers a friendly production that makes you feel like they're your friends... hi Chase and Chris!

I don’t know what it is but this guy bugs me. I don’t like to hear his views on issues pertaining to women because he really has no idea. He seems like a guy that likes to hear himself talk constantly and thinks he’s right but he’s not.

Great place to find non politically motivated information with much more context than most other sources.

And in the latest installment they try to pass of a Scott Adams' assessment as their own. The Smother's Brothers routine is tiresome too. Not funny and not original.

Well thought out, & investigated journalism. Excellent source of National as well as World news. This podcast is a great way to keep up to date without having to listen to all the crap from mainstream news shows.

I've been listening to Unfilter for a few months now and it's become too much for me so I'm unsubscribing. From the user base alone, they pick and choose from the media they criticize to push forward their conspiracies, including Fox News and Russia Today which are horrible sources. While they have a great knowledge of cyber and the propaganda being spread about its use, when it come to areas outside of that it's clearly biased and one sided. Unfortunately you have to find another podcast if you want something less full of propaganda, and I haven't found it yet.

Good coverage of cyber and foreign policy mostly. Election coverage lately has been dampened by an absolute hate of Hillary (not that she doesn't deserve it) and occasionally by a habit of blindly defending Johnson. I'm sure myself and everyone involved with Unfilter will be happy when the election ends though.

Certainly worth a listen. It's not everyone's cup of tea I imagine, but it is refreshing to hear people chat unfiltered about security related interests. Humans not politically correct robotic talking heads.

The hosts are informative while remaining entertaining. I've been an Unfiltered supporter for months now and I haven't regretted a single dime I've given them. Keep up the great work guys. Waking up on Thursday morning to the smell of conspiracy bacon is the best.

This is a grate show that really does a good job of staying unbiased. They try to pull news from all sorces with varying views.

The news I should not be watching, but it is the true news that I much prefer to do so. Love the level of details these guys go into.

A fantastic, alternative, sometimes counter-cultural look at the weeks [non?] news. Chris and Chase keep it light and funny but really discuss thins that will matter after next week.

As high technology becomes an ever larger factor in US and World affairs, the main stream media's reporting is ever more superficial and off base due to the technical ignorance of their reporting staff and the audiences that they target. Unfilter is a fantastic alternative of in-depth reporting by a very tech savy crew. They also refuse advertising for the Unfilter Show (viewer supported) to insure 'pleasing their adverstisers' is never a factor in their reporting. The show has attracted a loyal following of well educated tech savy individuals that know there is so much more to many of the top stories then what main stream media presents. There is also a good sub-reddit (Unfliter) where many of the shows followers exchange additional information and discussion.

Great show that is covering the Edward Snowden news which seems to be glossed over everywhere else. They also "unfilter" the rest of the news.
